除奥地利以外，欧盟对洗标要求还未达成共识.
欧盟没有强制要求向其进口的纺织品必须订有洗水唛。但欧洲纺织品联合会建议生产商对洗水方式作出表识，以便在问题发生时有相应的法令可依（欧盟产品责任指令）
洗水标可以由符号/图标组成，亦可附加文字，但文字不是必须的。
