PlatoisagreatphilosopherofancientGreece,aswellasoneofthegreatestphilosophersandthinkersinwesterncultureandphilosophy.Plato”steacherSocrates,andhisstudent,Aristotle,areoutstandingphilosophers,too.AncientGreekphilosophyisdominatedbythesethreefamousmen.PlatoisthefounderofWesternobjectiveidealism.Platobelievesthattheworldisconsistof”idea”and”phenomenon”.Theworldofideatrulyexitandneverchange.While,theworldwecanseeandwecantouchisjustthefaintshadowoftheideaworldwhichisformedbyphenomenon,andeachkindofphenomenonisduetothechangeofspatialandtemporal.Fromthisperspective,Platoputforwardatheoryofideasandmemories,andregardsitasthephilosophicalfoundationoftheteachingtheory.Inhisview,allthetangiblethingsinnaturearemoving,whilethe”idea”ofthemneverchange.Platopointedoutthat,whenwetalkaboutthehorse,wedonothaveanhorse,butsaidanyhorse.ThehorsemeaningitselfisindependentfromvariousMA(tangible),anditdoesnotexistinspaceandtime.Butacertainhorseisthemoving,itwilldie,willrot.ThemostfamousthinkingofPlatoishisloveview.Hesaid:”Themindremovesfromthehumanbodyandislongingforthetruthisthebest.Whenthesoulisthespiritofevilbytheinfection,peoplewishtopursuethetruthwillnotbesatisfied.Whenhumansdonothavethestrongdemandoftheflesh,themoodispeaceful,thefleshisanimalperformance,isthenatureofeveryorganism.Thiskindofloveisakindofidealloveview,aromanticviewwhichisimpossibletoachieve:standingbesidethelover,quietlypay,silentlywaiting,Hedoesnotexpecttheapproach,doesnothaveaprayer.Perhapsthisisnotaskingforanythingisdoomedtoatragicending.Finally,itisonlytwointhedistancewaitingarc,leavingthemostbeautifulmemoriesoffragmentsaseternal!Plato,inanycase,isnotonlyoneoftheliterarytraditionofthemostdazzlingwriterofwesternphilosophy,butalsothemostinsightful,extensiveandinfluentialwriters.Inhiswork,heshowedonpoliticaleventsandintellectualsatthattimetheactivitiesoftheattention,butheputforwardtheproblemissofar-reaching,hisuseofcopingstrategiesissuggestiveandexciting.InalmosteveryagephilosophersthinktheyisthePlatodoctrineinsomeimportantways,heisnotthefirstoneshouldusephilosophersthiswordthinkerorawriter,buthetophilosophyhowtoconceive,itsscopeandcorrectpursuitgoalsoself-knowledge.Throughhimtograsp,thesubjectofphilosophy,generally--ontheethics,politics,metaphysics,epistemologyissuestrictinspectionandsystem,throughauniquecalledhisinventionofthemethodofequipment,hewassochangedintellectualtide.Thehistoryofphilosophy,onlyafewoftheotherwritersinthebreadthanddepthofclosetohim:perhapsonlyAristotle(learntogetherandheman),Kantisgenerallyagreedtohavethesamestatus.
