外国语学院硕士学位论文开题报告书学科专业课程与教学论研究方向英语课程与教学论学生姓名导师姓名报告日期2014-5-10外国语学院制2014年5月10日填写-1-中文题目高三英语写作常见错误分析及启示对洛川县高三学生英语写作错误的研究外语题目ErrorAnalysisinEnglishWritingofSeniorMiddleSchoolStudentsinGrade3----ACaseStudyonErrorsinEnglishWritingofSenior3StudentsofLuochuanHighSchool论文类型请在有关项目下划√基础研究应用研究跨学科研究√I.Introduction1.1BackgroundoftheresearchWithChina’sentryintoWTOin2001,English,aninternationalcommonlanguage,playsacriticalpartinourdailycommunication.Writing,aswellaslistening,speakingandreading,isanimportantandessentialpartofsecondlanguageacquisition.Asoneoftheimportantlinguisticoutputskills,writingisusuallyregardedastheultimateandfundamentalmeasurestojudgeone’sEnglishlevel.WenQiufang(1996)indicatedthatqualityofEnglishwritingwouldbecameanimportantscalefortestingaqualifiedpersoninthetwenty-firstcentury.Inaddition,writingisakindofcreativeworkthattakesmuchtime.ThoughstudentshavestudiedEnglishforseveralyears,manystudentsstillregarditasanobstacle.Despitetheyhavedevotedmuchmoretimeandenergytopracticingwriting;theystillfindithardtoobtainhighmarksinwrittentasks.TherehasbeenanewwaveofreforminEnglisheducationinseniorhighschoolinChinasince2004.ThenewnationalEnglishcurriculumlaysouthighergoalsandrequirementsforseniorhighschoolstudents'writing.AccordingtotheEnglishCurriculumStandardofHighSchool,itrequiresthestudentsshouldwritesomebasiccompositioncorrectlyandfluently.Furthermore,itisknownthatthewritingtestinUniversityEntranceExaminationofChina,takesupnearly40percentofthetotalmarksinapaper.AlloftheevidencepointsthatwritinghasincreasinglysignificanceinEnglishlearning.However,thepresentsituationofwritingteachingofseniorhighschoolisfarfromsatisfactory.Foralongtime,givingtopicsandrequests,allowingstudentstocompletewritingwithinthetime,andthecompositionscorrectedbyteacheristhetraditionalwritingEnglishform.Insuchatrainingmode,themajorityofthestudentsproducepoorwritingskills.ItsobviousevidencethatEnglishwritingisterrible.Andofcourse,intheircompositionsarefullofredunderlinesanderrorsthattobecorrectedbyteachers,whichcostteacherssomuchtimeandenergy,italsoupsetthestudents.Dayafterday,thestudentsloseenthusiasmandmotivationintheEnglishwriting,andtheyareforcedtowriteforhomeworkandexaminations.-2-Inrecentyears,withthereformationofmiddleschoolteachinggoingfurther,someamazingchangeshavetakenplaceintheEnglishwriting.TheEnglishCurriculumStandardofHighSchoolemphasizesthetransitionfromteacher-centeredorientationtolearner—centeredorientation.Underthesecircumstances,mutualcommunicationbetweenteacherandstudent,studentandstudentshouldbeencouraged.Thestudents’academicmotivationisaroused.Thereforethestudents’writingabilityisimproved.But,actually,thereisalongwaytogofortheEnglishwritingteaching.1.2SignificanceoftheStudy1.2.1TheoreticalSignificanceoftheStudyWritingisregardedasanobjectiveandfairreflectionoftheoverallleveloflanguagelearning.WiththedevelopmentofthenewtheoryofErrorAnalysis(EA),thisresearchintendstofindoutthecommonerrorsinEnglishwritingcommittedbyChineseseniorhighschoolstudentsinGrade3of,alsothereasons.Theoretically,thiskindofstudycouldserveasasupplementforthestudyonEA.ItishopedthattheresultofthestudywillprovidesomesupportforEA.Atthesametime,thestudyalsocouldenrichthestudyofEAinvolvingtheacquisitionofwritingskillsinChineseEFLcontext.Andthiskindofstudywillprovidestudentstodeveloptheirindividualstrategysystem.1.2.2PracticalSignificanceoftheStudyEnglishwriting,asoneofthefourbasicskills,hasalwaysbeenregardedasaessentialpartforEnglishlearners.Practically,theresearchesofcombiningthetheoriesoferroranalysiswithEnglishwritingarestilllacking.Students'poorperformanceinwritingispartlyduetothedeficiencyintheoriesofEA.ThereforethefindingsstudywillmakeitclearforSeniorMiddleSchoolStudentsinGrade3.Specifically,iftheresearchissuccessful,thepracticalsignificancewillbethefollowing.Ononehand,thestudyonmakingerrorsshowstheprocessinwhichstudentsaretryingtoperformthetargetlanguagewhentheyarelearning.Theprocess,whichisprocessedimmediatelyandwhichisintake,internalizedandcumulatedintheirbrains.Ontheotherhand,studyingerrorscanprovideusefulinformationwhichwillhelpteacherstomakedecisiononhowtodealwiththeseerrorsbyupdatingteachingmethods.Allinall,thestudywillcultivatestudents'writingskillsandalsowillprovideEnglishteacherswitheffectivemethodsontrainingEnglishwriting,allofthesearebenefittoimprovestudents'writinglevel.II.LiteratureReview2.1StudiesonErrorAnalysisThestudyofSLA,asaninfluentialdisciplineinsecondlanguagestudy,hasdevelopedquicklyinthepast5decades.Therehavebeenextensiveresearchesdoneinthisfield.Amongthem,erroranalysis(EA)isacommonandcontroversialissueaboutwhichmanylinguistsandforeignteachershaveconcernedthemselvesforyears.2.1.1ErrorsandMistakeInordertoanalyzetheerrors,thereshouldbeastandardtoidentifyerrorsthemselvesandthetypesoferrors.‘‘Errorsgenerallyrefertothelearners’misuseormisunderstandingofthetarget1anguage,itmaybegrammaticalorpragmatic.Anerrorisanoticeabledeviationfrom-3-thestandardgrammarofanativespeaker,reflectingthelimitofthelearners’competenceinusingthetargetlanguage.It
