InternationalConferenceonAdvancesinComputationalModelingandSimulationThesemi-physicalsimulationsystemdesignofmicro-satellitebased-onHLAXueSheng,XuekuiLiu,ZhaoweiSunResearchCenterofSatelliteTechnology,HarbinInstituteofTechnologyˈHarbin150001ˈChinaAbstractThegroundsimulationvalidationisanimportantprocessduringsmallsatellite’sdevelopment.Givingconsiderationtothecharacteristicsofsmallsatelliteandatypeofgroundsimulationrequirements,asmallsatellitehardware-in-loopsimulationsystembased-onHLAisestablished.Systemstructure,theinteractiondatatable,hardwareinterfaceunitandthefederalmembers’flowchartaredesigned.Thesimulationandvalidationaredonetoacertainsmallsatellitethroughthedesignedhardware-in-loopsimulationsystem.Theresultsshowthatthesimulationsystemisabletosimulatedynamicsandcontrolsubsystem,powersupplysubsystemandpayloadsubsystemandrealizeaccessingphysicalequipmentofcontrolsubsystemmuchbetter,andhasgoodpracticalapplicationvalue.©2011PublishedbyElsevierLtd.Selectionand/orpeer-reviewunderresponsibilityofKunmingUniversityofScienceandTechnologyKeywords:micro-satellite;hardwire-in-loop;SimulationSystem;HLA.1.IntroductionWiththedevelopmentofcivilspace,high-performancecivilianspacecraftareneededurgently.However,becausetheprivateenterprisesarelimitedbyfinancialresources,it’simpossibletotakealargeinvestmenttolargeoutputroutine.Inordertogaingreatereconomicbenefitsthroughlessinvestment,wehavetoimprovethetraditionaldevelopmentmeansthatareusedtodesignandresearchspacecraft.Toimprovethe*Correspondingauthor.Tel.:+86-451-86402357.E-mailaddress:13796092008@163.com.802XueShengetal./ProcediaEngineering31(2012)801–806functionaldensityandthequality,shortentheresearchcycleandreducetheresearchcosts,alotofsimulationsandtestingonthegroundarenecessaryduringthespacecraftresearchanddevelopmentprocess,whichensurethesuccessrateduringspacecraftsrunningon-orbit.Thesimulationofsatellitesystem,asanimportantpartofthesatellitedevelopment,isaneffectivewaywidelyusedtotestandverifytheoverallsatelliteparametersofthespacemissionsandthesatellitesystem.Furthermore,domesticandforeignspaceagencieshaveprovedthattheadvancedmathematicaldesignandsimulationtechniquesareimportantmeanstoimprovetheperformanceofthespacecraft,ensurethedevelopmentquality,reducedevelopmentcostsandrisks,shortenthedevelopmentcycleandensurereliableoperationon-orbit[1].Domesticandforeignscholarshavecarriedoutextensiveresearchinthespacecraftsimulationsystem,forexample,theUniversityofTurin(Italy)andAleniaSpacehavedevelopedtheparalleldevelopmentenvironmenttofacilitatetheparalleldevelopmentofspacemissions,andtheelectricalcompanyCAE(Canada)hasdevelopedagraphicalsimulationplatformofspacecraftsoftwareenvironment.Althoughasimplemathematicalsimulationiscapableofmeetingtheneedsofmissionassessment,thetimingofsimulationisoneofthelimitedfactors.Hardwire-in-LoopSimulation(HIL)meansthatsomekindofphysicalobjectsneedaccessedbymathematicalsimulationsystems,hence,thetime,interface,performanceandotherparameterswillbeverifiedbytheHILsimulationplatform..Inthereference3,WangFengandhiscollaboratorshaveestablishedthehardwire-in-Loopsimulationplatformforthemicro-satellitecontrolsystem;Inthereference4,ChangTongliandhiscollaboratorshaveestablishedthehardwire-in-Loopsimulationplatformforspacedocking.However,allofthesehaveconsideredtheirscalabilityandopenness.Researchesondatastorageandtimemanagementissueshavebeenstudiedinreference5and6,butthedetailsforbuildinglarge-scalesystemssimulationandaccessingavarietyofdataorsoftwarehavenotbeenelaboratedclearly.Astheincreasingofcollaborationduringtheprocessofspacecraftresearch,it’samostpressingissuethatanopenandscalablehardwire-in-loopsimulationplatformisrequiredtoestablish.Inviewoftheaboverequirements,thepurposeofthispaperistoestablishsimulationplatformwithopenandscalableinterfaceformicro-satellite,whichisbase-onHLA(HighLevelArchitecture)framework.Therefore,themainworkincludesarchitectureandinterfacesdesigningforsimulationsystem,givingthesystem-leveldataflowaswellasthespecifictaskrequirementsofamodelsimulation,andthenrunningthecaseandgainthesimulationresults.2.Frameworkforsimulationsystembased-onHLAInordertosimplifythemicro-satellitesystemdevelopmentandtoachievethefutureexpansionandreuses,componentofthesystemwillbetransferredtomodulardesigninaccordancewithitsfunction,whichisbased-onthecharacteristicsandrequirementsofitssimulationprocess.Asforthecomponentsofdifferentfunction,itscorrespondingsimulationmodelshouldbedesigned,andavisualinterfacepanelisusedtocontrolandachieveitsfunctions.ThefederalmemberisinterconnectedbyLAN,usingMäKRTI3.0asitsRunTimeInfrastructure.LibRTIfromRTIisloadedtoeachofthefederalprogram,theservicewillbeextendedtodevelopersoffederation.ThefunctionthatfederalinformationexchangebetweenthefederalmembersandothersisachievedthroughtheHLAinterface.Thebasictaskofhardwire-in-loopsimulationformicro-satelliteistocompletevalidationforhardwareandsoftwareofitssubsystem(s).Itmeanssubsystemsforamicro-satellitewillbeassignedtoadifferentcomputertocompletethemathematicalsimulation,
