Goodafternoon,everyone!Itismygreathonortostandheretogiveyouthispresentation.Firstletmeintroducemyselfbriefly,mynameisPengHui,IamcurrentlyajuniorstudentcomefromtheDepartmentofOceanScienceandEngineering.Mymajorisportchannelandcoastalengineering.MyhometownisYiYanginHuNanprovince.Inmysparetime,Ilikeplayingtabletennisandbadminton,Ithinkexerciseisalsoaninvestment.AlsoIlikelisteningmusicandtraveling,theyaregoodwaystorelaxmyself.Nowlet’sbeginmypresentation.Inthefollowingfewminutes,Ihopeallofyoucanenjoymyspeech.Mytopicis“IsItNecessarytoBuyaHousebeforeGettingMarried”.Whenwearepreparingtogetwed,onethingweshoulddecideiswherewewillliveafterthewedding.Ideally,thisshouldbetakencareofbeforewegetmarriedsothatwecansettledownandstartourmarriedlifemoresmoothly.Shouldwerentahousewithourcompanionorbuyanewone?There’sreallynorightanswer.Therearenoclearcutformulastoestablishwhetheritisbettertoownahouseduringourmarriagelife.Alotofitdependsonfinancepreparedness,thequalityofourrelationshipwitheachother,andotherthings.Today,gettingmarriedinChinaisnotaneasything.“Nohouse,nomarriage”hasbeenverypopularinthesociety.AccordingtotheSurveyReportChineseMarriageStatusof2010releasedonDec15,2010,about70percentofwomensaidthathousing,stableincomeandsomesavingswerethemainrequirementsformarriage.Fromthereport,wecanseethathousingisonthetopamongthefactors.Personalityandmoralslaybeyondthetopthreerequirements.However“Nohouse,nomarriage”hasbeenaphenomenondifferentfromothercountries.Next,let’stakealookatthesituationoverseas.InJapan,rentinghasbeenacustomfornewlymarriedyoungcouples.Fewcanaffordtopurchaseproperty.Upto67.1percentofyoungcoupleschoosetorent,andmerely14.3percentofthegroupbuyahouseformarriages.Generallyspeaking,mostbuyersareolderthan40inJapan.InEurope,itisreportedthattherearemanypeoplewholiveinrentedhousesalltheirlivesandtheydon’tfeelitisabadthing.InBerlin,70percentpeoplechoosetorent,only30percentadultschoosetobuyahouse.JournalistshavesurveyedthattheaverageageofEuropeanstobuytheirfirsthouseinBelgiumis41-year-old,inFrance38yearsold,inGermany40yearsold.Finally,theyconcludedthattheaverageageis40yearsold.FormanyAmericans,housingtroublesdon'tposeanyobstacletomarriage.Theyoftenbuyahouseafterthewedding,becausemoreandmorepeoplearereconsideringtheirrealestateproblem,andgoingbacktoamorerationalmodeofconsumption.Inmyopinion,itisnotnecessarytobuyahousebeforewegetmarried.First,ifwechoosetobuyahouse,itwillincreaseoureconomicburden,leadingtheconstraintofourmarriagelife.Second,itwillimposerestrictionstothedevelopmentofourcareerifwespendmostofoursalariesonmortgagingahouse.Lastbutnotleast,wewillfeelguiltifourparentcan’tenjoyahappylifeintheirlateryearsbecausetheirsavingwerespentonbuyingaflatforus.Aboveall,youngpeopleshouldbefreetoenjoybeingyoung,withoutthehugepressureoftryingtobuyhouses.That’sall!Thankyouforyourattention!
