TheEnergyInformationAdministrationforecastsconsumptiontodoubleto15.7millionbarrelsperdayin2030comparedto7.58millionperdayin2007.TheChineseAcademyofSocialSciencesalsopredictsthatthecountrywillconsume563milliontonsofcrudeoilin2020,whichis62.5percentmoreover2006;see“China’soilconsumptiontohit563Mtonsin2020,”ChinaDaily,April20083
