Ó¢Îļò½é£º¶«±±´óѧ¡¡¡¡NortheasternUniversityislocatedinShenyang,LiaoningProvince,whichoccupiedanareaof2030,000squaremetersandanarchitecturalareaof1000,000squaremeters,issituatedonthenorthbankoftheHunHeRiverandclosetotheSouthLake.TheuniversityisoneofChinashighleveluniversitiesdesignatedforthestatekeyconstructionofthe211Projectand985Project.¡¡¡¡Beingamulti-disciplineuniversityfocusingonengineering,whilehavingkepttheedgeintraditionaldisciplinessuchasmining,materialscience,metallurgyandmechanicalsciences,NEUhasmadeheadwayinsomeofthenewlyrisingandcross-disciplinarydisciplinessuchasautomation,computerscience,andotherhigh-techdisciplines.ThedisciplineofControlScienceandEngineeringwasrankednumberoneinthisdisciplineinChinainthefirstnationalfirst-leveldisciplineassessmentbyNationalAcademicDegreeandPostgraduateEducationDevelopmentCenter.¡¡¡¡NEUconsistsofQinghuangdaoBranch,GraduateSchool,12schoolsandDepartmentofPhysicalEducation.Thereare2140teachersandresearchers,6academiciansoftheChineseAcademyofSciencesandChineseAcademyofEngineering,9membersoftheDisciplineEvaluationBoardoftheStateCouncil,218tutorsofph.Dstudent,328professors,and629associateprofessors.Thereare2195ph.Dstudents,7232graduatestudents,21333undergraduatestudents.NEUhas53majors;ithastherighttoconferMasterDegreesin170subjects,besidesMBA,MPAandEngineeringMaster;toconferDoctorDegreein81subjects.Thereare3nationalkeydisciplinesofFirstClassDisciplineand15nationalkeydisciplinesofSecondClassDiscipline,13Post-DoctorStations,4NationalEngineering(Technology)ResearchCenters,1keyState-levellaboratoryandonestatekeylaboratorycultivationbase.Thereare1NationalbaseofCollegeStudentQuality-orientedEducationand1nationalengineeringandmechanicalteachingbaseinengineeringbasiccourses.¡¡¡¡Sincethe10th¡°fiveyearplan¡±,NEUhastakenon1906researchprojectsofnationalnaturalfund,nationalkeyfundamentalresearch,developandplanning(973project),nationalhigh-techresearchdevelopplanning(863project),nationaltechnologyresearch,warindustryandthecooperationresearchwithenterprises.In2006,thenumberofnationalawardsofscientificandtechnicalpayoffsofNEUwereranked6thamongtheuniversitiesinChina.NEUhaswon180awardsofthestate,provinceandministry,amongwhichthereisonefirstprizeofthenationaltechnologyprogressawardandtwosecondprizes.NEUhaspublishedover9082papersonnationalandinternationalacademicjournalsandconferences.Thereare2001papersofNEUintheworldtopthreesearchsystems.¡¡¡¡NEUpreservesinopeningeducationfacingtheworld.Ithasestablishedacademicexchangerelationshipwith84universitiesandinstitutionsin20countriesandregions,andhasinvitedover2000overseaexpertstoteach,givelecturesandcooperativestudyinNEU.¡¡¡¡Lookingintothefuture,NEUwilltaketheopportunityandkeepitscharacteristic.ItwillstrivetorealizethegoalthatmakingNEUthatischaracteristicwith¡°multi-discipline,researchoriented,internationalization¡±,rankingamongthetoplevelnationwideandenjoyingwellrecognitionworldwide.
