AnsoftSIwave教學AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPairPartII更新日期:11/27/201023:25:241.方法一--Micron、Elpida、Hynix、Samsung2.方法二(right)--Elpida3.方法三(right)--Micron、Elpida4.問題與討論本文將延續Lesson10的內容,進一步以模擬DDRII_800的CLKorDQSdifferentialpair為例,列舉幾家大廠如Micron、Hynix、Elpida、Samsung的模擬結果,並就其中的cross-overpointlevel問題討論。方法一、二是在Lesson13介紹過的,本章將再介紹一種新的方法三。先在Design/Nexxim中建一組idealdifferentialclkpatternsource,其cross-overpointis0.9V,andduty=50%页码,1/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPair1.方法一:DP/DM用同一種IOIBISmodel,在輸入端灌理想的差動波形(相位差180度),觀察輸出波形是否為理想 1.1MicronDDRII_800simulationresult页码,2/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPair页码,3/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPaircross-overpointlevelis1.26V,itistoohigh1.2ElpidaDDRII_800simulationresult页码,4/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPair页码,5/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPaircross-overpointlevelis1.2V,itisstilltoohigh1.3HynixDDRII_800simulationresult页码,6/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPaircross-overpointlevelis1.15V,itisstilltoohigh页码,7/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPair1.4SamsungDDRII_800simulationresult页码,8/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPaircross-overpointlevelis1.15V,itisstilltoohigh方法一的模擬結果,不管套用哪一家的IBISModel,cross-overpointlevel都偏高,但以Hynix、Samsung相對較理想。2.方法二:DP/DM用同一種IOIBISmodel,但其中一個的PolarityType改成Inverting,觀察輸出波形是否為理想   2.1ElpidaDDRII_800simulationresult页码,9/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPair方法二的模擬結果,cross-overpointlevel變成0.82V偏低了??3.方法三:DP/DM直接用DifferentialIBISmodel,觀察輸出波形是否為理想 3.1MicronDDRII_800simulationresult页码,10/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPair页码,11/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPairMicron的DDRII_800DifferentialIBISmodel,跑出來的cross-overpoint是不對稱的喔。大廠耶...3.2ElpidaDDRII_800simulationresult页码,12/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPair页码,13/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPairElpida的DDRII_800DifferentialIBISmodel,跑出來的cross-overpoint約0.82V,雖然接近0.9V,但duty已經不是50%了。大廠耶...4.問題與討論 4.1眼尖的讀者可能有發現,方法二與方法三跑出的結果是相同的。why?? 這並不是巧合,是有原因的     並非所有的IBISmodel都可以抓出differentialmodeIO,必須在IBIS中有看到如下的differential宣告,才可以抓出differentialIBISmodel。查閱IBISspec.v4.2對[DiffPin]的定義,它就是兩個pin用同一個IBISmodel,但一個用non-invtype,一個用invtype,也就是我們的方法二。雖然這是IBISspec.的定義,但筆者還是滿腹疑惑,實際的電路就算可以設計到上升時間與页码,14/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPair下降時間完全對稱,但如何做到多一個inverter而沒有任何時間延遲??4.2 方法一的cross-overlevel偏高,與方法二、三的CLKduty不對稱,都是同一個問題所致:就是IOpad的上升/下降時間(推力)沒有設計的100%完全對稱。     對此,DDRII有定義一個OCDfunction页码,15/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPair页码,16/16AdvancedEyeAnalysisforDifferentialPair
