1文名人名校励志英语演讲稿：DaretoCompete,DaretoCare敢于竞争，勇于关爱---美国国务卿希拉里·克林顿耶鲁大学演讲Daretocompete.Daretocare.Daretodream.Daretolove.Practicetheartofmakingpossible.Andnomatterwhathappens,evenifyouhearshoutsbehind,keepgoing.要敢于竞争，敢于关爱，敢于憧憬，大胆去爱！要努力创造奇迹！无论发生什么，即使有人在你背后大声喊叫，也要勇往直前。ItissuchanhonorandpleasureformetobebackatYale,especiallyontheoccasionofthe300thanniversary.Ihavehadsomanymemoriesofmytimehere,andasNickwasspeakingIthoughtabouthowIendedupatYaleLawSchool.Andittellsalittlebitabouthowmuchprogresswe’vemade.WhatIthinkmostaboutwhenIthinkofYaleisnotjustthepoliticallychargedatmosphereandnotevenjustthesuperblegaleducationthatIreceived.ItwasatYalethatIbeganworkthathasbeenatthecoreofwhatIhavecaredabouteversince.IbeganworkingwithNewHavenlegalservicesrepresentingchildren.AndIstudiedchilddevelopment,abuseandneglectattheYaleNewHavenHospitalandtheChildStudyCenter.IwasluckyenoughtoreceiveacivilrightsinternshipwithMarianWrightEdelmanattheChildren’sDefenseFund,whereIwenttoworkafterIgraduated.Thoseexperiencesfueledinmeapassiontoworkforthebenefitofchildren,particularlythemostvulnerable.Now,lookingback,thereisnowaythatIcouldhavepredictedwhatpathmy2lifewouldhavetaken.Ididn’tsitaroundthelawschool,saying,well,youknow,IthinkI’llgraduateandthenI’llgotoworkattheChildren’sDefenseFund,andthentheimpeachmentinquiry,andNixonretiredorresigns,I’llgotoArkansas.Ididn’tthinklikethat.Iwastakingeachdayatatime.But,I’vebeenveryfortunatebecauseI’vealwayshadanideainmymindaboutwhatIthoughtwasimportantandwhatgavemylifemeaningandpurpose.Asetofvaluesandbeliefsthathavehelpedmenavigatetheshoals,thesometimesverytreacheroussea,toilluminatemyowntruedesires,despitethatotherssayaboutwhatlshouldcareaboutandbelievein.Apassiontosucceedatwhatlthoughtwasimportantandchildrenhavealwaysprovidedthatlonestar,thatguidinglight.Becauselhavethatabsoluteconvictionthateverychild,especiallyinthis,themostblessedofnationsthathaseverexistedonthefaceofearth,thateverychilddeservestheopportunitytoliveuptohisorherGod-givenpotential.Butyouknowthatbeliefandconviction-itmaymakeforapersonalmissionstatement,butstandingalone,nottranslatedintoaction,itmeansverylittletoanyoneelse,particularlytothoseforwhomyouhavethoseconcerns.WhenIwasthinkingaboutrunningfortheUnitedStatesSenate-whichwassuchanenormousdecisiontomake,oneInevercouldhavedreamedthatIwouldhavebeenmakingwhenIwashereoncampus-IvisitedaschoolinNewYorkCityandImetayoungwoman,whowasastarathlete.woman,whowasastarathlete.IwastherebecauseofBillyJeanKingpromotinganHBOspecialaboutwomen3insportscalled“Daretocompete.”ItwasaboutTitleIXandhowwefinally,thankstogovernmentaction,providedopportunitiestogirlsandwomeninsports.AndalthoughIplayednotverywellatintramuralsports,Ihavealwaysbeenastrongsupporterofwomeninsports.AndIwasintroducedbythisyoungwoman,andasIwenttoshakeherhandsheobviouslyhadbeenreadingthenewspapersaboutpeoplesayingIshouldorshouldn’trunfortheSenate.AndIwascongratulatingheronthespeechshehadjustmadeandsheheldontomyhandandshesaid,“Daretocompete,Mrs.Clinton.Daretocompete.”Itookthattoheartbecauseitishardtocompetesometimes,especiallyinpublicways,whenyourfailuresarethereforeveryonetoseeandyoudon’tknowwhatisgoingtohappenfromonedaytothenext.Andyetsomuchoflife,whetherweliketoacceptitornot,iscompetingwithourselvestobethebestwecanbe,beinginvolvedinclassesorprofessionsorjustlife,whereweknowwearecompetingwithothers.ItookheradviceandIdidcompetebecauseIchosetodoso.Andthebiggestchoicesthatyou’llfaceinyourlifewillbeyoursalonetomake.I’msureyou’llreceivegoodadvice.You’regotagreateducationtogobackandreflectaboutwhatisrightforyou,butyoueventuallywillhavetochooseandIhopethatyouwilldaretocompete.AndbythatIdon’tmeanthekindofcutthroatcompetitionthatistoooftencharacterizedbywhatisdrivingAmericatoday.Imeanthesmallvoiceinsideyouthatsaystoyou,youcandoit,youcantakethisrisk,youcantakethisnextstep.4Anditdoesn’tmeanthatoncehavingmadethatchoiceyouwillalwayssucceed.Infact,youwon’t.Therearesetbacksandyouwillexperiencedifficultdisappointments.Youwillbesloweddownandsometimesthebreathwilljustbeknockedoutofyou.Butifyoucarrywithyouthevaluesandbeliefsthatyoucanmakeadifferenceinyourownlife,firstandforemost,andtheninthelivesofothers.Youcangetbackup,youcankeepgoing.Butitisalsoimportant,asIhavefound,nottotakeyourselftooseriously,becauseafterall,everyoneofusheretoday,noneofusisdeservingoffullcredit.Ithinkeverydayoftheblessingsmybirthgavemewithoutanydoingofmyown.Ichoseneithermyfamilynormycountry,buttheyasmuchasanythingI’veeverdone,determinedmycourse.Youcomparemyoryourcircumstanceswiththoseofthemajorityofpeoplewho’veeverlivedorwhoarelivingrightnow,theytoooftenarebornknowingtoowellwhattheirfutureswillbe.Theylackthefreedomtochoosetheirlife’spath.They’reimprisonedbycircumstancesofpovertyandignorance,bigotry,disease,hunger,oppressionandwar.So,daretocompete,yes,butmaybeevenmoredifficult,daretocare.Daretocareaboutpeoplewhoneedourhelptosucceedandfulfilltheirownlives.Therearesomanyoutthereandsometimesallittakesisthesimplestofgesturesorhelpinghandsandmanyofyouunderstandthatalready.Iknowthatthenumbersofgrad
