TheComparisonofPropagandaFilmsfromPekingUniversityandYaleUniversityRecently,Ihavewatchedtwopropagandafilmsforschooladmissions.oneisfromPekingUniversity,anothercomesfromYaleUniversity.Thefilmshavepresentedthecharacteristicsandcultureofthetwoschoolswithdifferentways,aimingforattractingstudentstocome.TherearesomeobvioussimilaritiesinthepropagandafilmsfrombothPekingUniversityandYaleUniversity.Therewasaheadandtailechoinbothfilms,thefilmofPekingUniversitystartedwithakerosenelamplightedbyamatch,andendedwithalightingmatch,YaleUniversitytookatraditionalYaleinformationsessionasthebeginning,andfinishedthefilmbyreturningtothesession.Besides,bothuniversitiesexhibitedtheirdiversesubjectsandacademicatmosphere.However,therearenumbersofdifferencesbetweentwopropagandafilms.PekingUniversitycenteredonthecourseofschooldevelopingforcentury,withsombrehueanddepressivemusicwhichwasdifficulttounderstand,anditlackedthepresentationofmodernizationandglobalization.whileYaleUniversityraisedaquestionstraightlywith”whydoyouchooseYale”,andbeginedwiththeviewofaadmissionofficer,introducingtheconditionandfacilitiesintheschool,presentingtheirhousingsystem,diversesocietiesincludingdancing、singing、sports、playandsoon,aswellasacademicopportunities,emphasizingtheglobalizationbyexhibitionofstudentsfromdifferentcountries.Fromapersonalperspective,IprefertothefilmofYaleUniversity,althoughthefilmofPekingUniversityhavepresentedthedevelopinghistorywithprofoundartisticconception,itisdifficultforthepublictounderstand.YaleUniversityhaveshownitsadvantagesbyarelaxway,fullwithvitality,thusitattractsmetoknowmore.
