“泰坦尼克号”英文观后感Aftertheappreciationofthefilm“Titanic”，Ihavenoticedsomemeaningfuldetailsbehindthepeoples'generalimpressionofsimplyanaffectionalfilm.ThewreckoftheTitanicoccurredin1912,inwhichthegreatrecessionstartedfromtheendofthe19thCenturystillhasn'tended.MostcriticspointedoutthatthesinkingoftheTitanicrepresentsthecollapseoftheCapitalismintheendofthe19thCentury.However,Iwouldliketosaythat,inthismovie,thedirectorhadnotonlyforeranthecrisisoftheCapitalism,butalsoshowedsomeofthehumannature,frombothgloomyandbrilliantaspects,likeselfish,mammonish,vainglorious,andlove,hope,bravery,faith,andsoon.Inthisessay,Iwillfirstrevealthisfilm'sindicationofthesocialcontextofthatage,thenIwillanalysethetwocontraryaspectsofhumannatureindicatedinthisfilmthroughsomeimpressiveshots.Underthedevelopmentofindustrialtechnology,theeconomyintheCapitalismcountriestookoff.Peoplelivedarich,luxuryandexpensivelife,andthisrapideconomicdevelopmentlastedforalmost20years.Peoplehadgotusedtothiskindoflife.Thehugedevelopmentinmachinerychangedpeople'slifegreatly.Innovationsoftransportation,suchasvehiclesandtankers,allowedpeopletotravelaround.Theappearanceofthesemoderntransportationswasanimportantmilestoneoftheindustrialization.Peoplethusbecameveryconfidentonhumanintellectualcapabilities.Theybelievedtheirpowerofconqueringthenatureisinapproachable.WhiletheTitanicisalsocalled“TheShipofDreamers”，inthisfilm,whenitbearinginwiththeoceaninthedarkness,themysteriousoceanrepresentstheunknownnatureandtheshipitselfrepresentstheadvancedmaterialcapabilitiespeopleowned.InashotthatMrBruceexplainshisdesignoftheTitanic,hesaid“theshippossesseshugesize,stability,luxury,andstrength”，andthat“thesupremacywillneverbechallenged”。Infact,allthesewordscanbethoughtofthesymbolsoftheCapitalismofthattimeinmanypeople'seyes.TheythoughttheCapitalismisjustliketheTitanic,whichshouldbe“unsinkable”。Thewonderfulwayofdevelopingeconomywouldstayingoodconditioneternally.However,thingsdonotalwaysfollowthewaypeoplewishtobe.TheeconomicrecessionsuddenlyattackedtheCapitalismcountriesattheendofthe19thCentury.Itwasnotuntilthenthatpeopledidnotrealizetheimpracticalityoftheiridealized“unsinkable”Capitalism.Capitalismwillsink.Andunfortunatelyitdidsink.Justlikethemovieshows,whentheshipbrokeintotwopartsandbegantosinkquickerandquicker,everybodyknowstheshipisgoingtosink,thepriestkeptreiteratingtothedisciples,“theformerwouldhaspassedaway.”Astothehumannatureuncoveredinthisfilm,canbethoughtoffrombothnegativeandpositiveaspects.Iwillfirstelucidatesomegloomycharacteristicsrevealedbythefilm.ThefirstimpressivecharacteristicmaybethatthefiancéofRose,Karlwouldgainhisendsbyfairmeansorfoul.WhenhenoticedthatRosehasobliquitywithJack,hetookoutthenecklacewithadiamondof56caratsnamed“theheartoftheocean”，torequestRosenottoleavehim.HeknowsthatRosedoesn'tlovehim,buthechosetousemoneytokeepRosewithhim.WhenTitanicwassinking,bothJackandKarlweretryingtotrickRoseintogettingontheaccidentboat.SinceKarlhadalreadybribedasailor,heliedtoRosethathewouldensurethatJackwillalsogetontheboat.Nevertheless,whenKarlhimselfwasrejectedtogetontheaccidentboat,heagainusedanintriguethathepickedupanoutcastchildandpretendedtobethefatherofthechild,andmanagedtogetontheaccidentboat.Anothernegativesocialmoodofthattimeexposedbythefilmisvanity.Rose'smotherwantedtomarryherdaughtertoKarljustbecauseKarlisextremelyrich,whileshedoesn'tcarewhetherRoseloveshimornot.WhenJackwearingasuitborrowedfromawomantoattendthedinnerinvitedbyKarl,hewasrespectedbyotherguests.However,whenheworehisownclothesmaybealittlebitshabby,andtriedtoentertheballroomtolookforRose,hewasdrivenoutbythetwoguardsoutsidetheballroom.ThetworespondencesdependingonJack'sappearancecontrastedsharply,andreallyveryshockingforustoimagineasocietylikethat.Anyway,therearesomebrilliantaspectsofhumannatureshowedinthisfilm.Thereislove,bravery,faith,andbeliefsexistingatthescene.Thepresenceoflovewasimpenetratedthroughthewholefilm.TheloveisnotonlyexpressedbetweenJackandRose,butalsoexistsamongthefamilies.Whenthewaterwaspouredintotheship,whenmenareforcedtobeobstructedfromtheirwivesandchildren,anoldcoupleheldeachothertightlyinthebed;afathercomfortedhisdaughterhewilljustleaveherforawhile,justalittlewhile…WhenTitanicwassinking,somemusicianswereperformingpiecesofmusic,somediscipleswereprayingtoVirginMaryaroundthepriestontheirknees…Inconclusion,thefilmof“Titanic”isnotsimplyanaffectionalstorybetweenJackandRose.Itshowsmorethanlove.ThewreckofTitanicrepresentsthecollapseoftheCapitalism,whichisconsidered“unsinkable”bymostpeople.Thefilmalsoshowsdifferentaspectsofhumannature.Somepeopleownstrongvainglory,whilesomeotherpossessmuchoflove;stillothersarerichinfirmfaithandbeliefs.Weshouldalwayskeepinmindthat,nomatterhowenormousthecalamityis,nomatterhowdefectivethepeopleare,weshouldbelievetherearealwaysmorevirtuethanviceintheworld…
