TheTenseRelationshipbetweentheDoctorandthePatientJustimaginethedoctorandthepatientintheinward,bothwithacoldexpressionontheirfaces.Theyfeltdissatisfiedateachother.Theatmosphereistenselikeinthewar,inwhichaconflictcanbreakoutatanytime.It’sabsolutelynotthepictureofourexpectationbutexactlythedepictionoftherealitythatthedoctorandthepatientareinatenserelationship.Butwhat‘sthecauseforthetenserelationship?Itmaycomedowntothreeaspects:theunequalstatusofdoctorsandpatientsinthisrelationship,thelackofinteractionbetweenthemandtheattitudesoftheirs.Firstly,theinequalitybetweenthedoctorsandpatientsmeansthatinthecorrelationofdoctorsandpatients,thedoctorsareinadominantpositionwhilethepatientinapassiveandinferiorposition.Thedoctorsusuallyfailtocareforthepatients’requirementsduetotheirsuperiorstatus.Also,thepatient’spositioncanworsentheirsenseofinsecurity,whichinturn,leadstotheirdistrustinthedoctor.Thesetwofactorscontributetotheoccurrenceofthetenserelationship.Inaddition,thelackofinteractionbetweendoctorsandpatientsaddstothetenserelationship.Thislargelyresultsfromthebusyworkofaclinicaldoctor,whohastowatchrounds,writingtonsofpaperworkandhandletheins-and-outs.Asaconsequenceofthelackofinteractionandcommunication,thereislessandlesstrustandunderstandingbetweendoctorsandpatients,whichisthecontributorycausefortheconflicttobreakoutfinally.Thedirectcauseforthetenserelationshipliesinthebadattitudesofsomedoctorsandpatients.Thedoctorhasbecomeexhaustedandimpatientaftertheheavyclinicalworkandthepatienthasbecometotallymadaftertheextremelycomplicatedprocedureinthehospital.Whenthesetwopeoplemeeteachother,thereisagreatpossibilityofconflictevenowingtosomethinginsignificantandtrivial.Soalloftheabovethreeaspectswellexplainhowthetenserelationshipbetweenthedoctorandthepatientdevelop.Itneedsarevolutionwhichcanbecompletedbythedoctors,thepatientsandthehospital.Andfirstofall,andmostimportantly,wehavetotrusteachotherandallowmoreunderstandinginthedoctor-andpatientrelationship.
