Abstract—Thecampuscultureofuniversitiesandcollegesisanimportantpartofsocialistculture;itisadynamiccombinationofcampusspiritualculture,academicculture,scienceandtechnologyculture,environmentculture,activitycultureandinternetculture,andadynamicintegrationofhistoricalaccumulationandtimespirit;itisalsoareflectionofthecampus’entireappearance,level,style,features,cohesiveforce,emotionalappealandvitality.ItisproposedinthistextthesignificanceandnecessityoftakingthespiritoftheSixthPlenarySessionoftheSeventeenthCentralCommitteeasthedirectionofuniversitycampuscultureconstruction;andelaboratedconnotationandsignificanceofcampusculture,asavehicle,loadingandreflectinguniversityspirit;onthisbasis,madeaconcreteanalysisonwaysandapproachesofuniversitycampusculturebuilding.IndexTerms—Campusculture,collegesanduniversities,universityspirit,approach.I.INTRODUCTIONDecisionoftheCPCCentralCommitteeonmajorissuespertainingtodeepeningreformoftheculturalsystemandpromotingthegreatdevelopmentandflourishingofsocialistculturepassedbytheSixthPlenarySessionoftheSeventeenthCentralCommitteeisthethirdimportantresolutionfortheissuesofcultureconstructionfollowingDecisiononsocialistideologicalandethicalprogressguidelinespassedbytheSixthPlenarySessionofthetwelfthCentralCommitteeandDecisiononmajorissuespertainingtostrengtheningsocialistideologicalandethicalprogresspassedbytheSixthPlenarySessionofthefourteenthCentralCommittee.ItisfullyembodiedintheDecisionthatthePartyCentralCommitteeattachesgreatimportancetocultureconstructionandhighlightedthesignificanceofcampuscultureconstructionincollegesanduniversities;raisednewtopicsonrationalconfigurationofcampuscultureresources,creatingcampusculturalenvironmentandpromotingcampuscultureconstructioneffectivelyinthenewsituation;anditisexplicitstillfurthertheresponsibilitythatcollegesanduniversitiesundertakeinrespecttodevelopingcultureundertakingsandpromotingculturespirit,andtheirculturalservicefunctionsforundergraduates;inshort,theDecisionprovidescollegesanduniversitieswitheffectivetheoryguaranteeonstrengtheningcampuscultureconstruction.ManuscriptreceivedApril15,2012;revisedJune1,2012.ThisworkwassupportedinpartbySocialscienceresearchprogramofLuzhouMedicalCollege(2010116).TheauthorsarewiththeBasicMedicalSchoolofLuzhouMedicalCollege,Luzhou646000,China(e-mail:anitahyde@qq.com,381238423@qq.com,244600699@qq.com).II.UNIVERSITYSPIRITISTHELEADINGANDSOULOFCAMPUSCULTUREUniversityspiritisavalueconceptthatrefinedfromcampusculturewithlongtermsofaccumulationandintegrationduringtheprocessofitsdevelopment.Thisvalueconceptreflectsthepeculiaressence,mentaloutlookandcharacteristicsofaschool,andbrightlyembodiestheformulationoftheschool'smission,trainingobjectiveanduniquestyleoftheschool[1].Campuscultureconstructionincollegesanduniversitiesgoeshandinhandwithcultivationandbuildingofuniversityspirit.Itisnotonlyanembodimentofuniversityspirit,butalsoavehicleofuniversityspirit[2].Ontheonehand,asforcollegesanduniversitiesthemselves,campuscultureasavehiclecarryingandreflectinguniversityspiritcancreateapositive,healthyandenthusiasticuniversityatmospherethatcanaffectstudents’valuechoice,personalityshaping,modeofthinking,ethos,moralsentimentandbehaviorpattern.Ontheotherhand,asforthesociety,itcanalsoshowthevaluepursuitandcharmofthecollege.Universityspiritcanberefinedandrepresentedbythepatternsofschoolmottoandschoolsong[3],[4].III.EXPLORINGWAYSANDAPPROACHESFORCAMPUSCULTURECONSTRUCTIONINCOLLEGESANDUNIVERSITIESBYTHEPRINCIPLEOF“STUDENT-ORIENTED”Collegesanduniversitiesarenotonlyimportantplacesforcultivatingtalents,butalsoprovidespiritualsupportandintelligencesupportforeconomicandsocialdevelopment.Campuscultureconstructionincollegesanduniversitiesshouldbe“student-oriented”.Agoodenvironmentshouldbesuppliedinrespecttoimprovingthestudents’knowledgestructureandenhancingtheirabilityandqualityfortheirgrowthandsuccess.Besides,exertasubtleinfluenceoncultivatingandshapingthestudents’characterbyculture[5],[6].Campuscultureconstructionmainlyinvolvesthefollowingrespects:A.AcademicCultureConstructionAcademiccultureisthemaincontentofcampuscultureconstruction.Suchculturetypeembodiestheacademicfeaturesofaschoolandmeanwhilereflectstheschool’sacademiclevel[7].Duringtheconstructionofacademicculture,collegesanduniversitiescaninvitesomescholarsandexpertsathomeandabroadtovisittheschoolorholdacademiclectures,soastorealizecultureexchangebetweenschoolandschoolandamongfamousscholarsandstudents;acceleratingtransmissionandcommunicationofcampuscultureamongcollegesanduniversities;strengtheningOnWaystoExploreUniversitySpiritShapingandCampusCultureConstructioninUniversitiesDanFang,LuluLiu,andYanbinTangInternationalJournalofe-Education,e-Business,e-Managementande-Learning,Vol.2,No.3,June2012270academicatmosphereinschools;speedingupthepaceofscientificresearch;andfurtherpromotingthelong-termdevelopmentofthecollegesanduniversities[8],[9].B.EnvironmentCultureConstructionDuringtheprocessofcampusculturedevelopment,universitiesshouldtrytheirbesttocreateanenvironmentwithhumanisticconnotatio
