LetterofIntentWhenasprinklingsnowaircraftcrashedintoaskyscraperduetoair-impingementonChristmasEve.Theexplosionrentstheserenity,thefirespreadrapidly,explosionafteranother.Intheresult,thepanickedpeoplelivingin108layersskyscraperhavenowheretoescape,evenfirefighterscomingatfullspeedalsoappeartobeinadequateandthatkindofsituationbecomeaproblemcannotsolve.ThesceneisthemostmemorableclipsoftheKoreanmovieSkyscraperleftme.Theskyscrapersarehigh-risebuildingswithtwintower,thereisafullglassofaircorridorbetweentwoskyscrapers,thuswhenabuildingisonfire,peopleinahigherlevelcanrunthroughthecorridortoanotherbuilding.Inthemovie,thereisagroupofpeoplerescuedfromanotherexitbyforcingdowntheelevatortotheunderground.Theelevatordescentsthroughachannel,anditistheelevatorlandinghinderdeviceeverytenlayersthatmakesmostpeoplesurvived.However,forthebuilding'sfireprotectionsystemandsmokeexhaustsystemdon’tnotmaintainverywell,whenthefirebreakout,thefacadeofthebuildingfailstofinishthefireextinguishingworktimely,inconsequenceofwhich,manypeoplearekilledinthere.Thanksforthemovie,Irealizedthatthesecuritysystemsdesignofthebuildingisquitecrucial.Aperfectbuildingnotonlyneedsaestheticallypleasing,theplaneusingpartisbutalsoquiteimportant.Inparticular,duetoescapingisnoteasyinhigh-risebuildings,thedesignshouldbemoreprudent.Aqualifiedarchitectshouldbeattachedimportancetoallaspectsofdesign.Uponcompletion,thedailyinspectionequipmentcannotbeignored.Withrapidevolutioneraaswellashumanneeds,therehavebeenemerginglotsofecologicalbuilding,greenbuilding,high-techarchitecture.Underthepremiseofthesebuildings,equippedwithadvancedtechnology,thesebuildingswillbetheGospelofhumanbeing.Myultimategoalistohelpbuildoutmyhomecountrymorehealthier,moreeconomicalandmorefreedombuildingsthroughgettingamasterdegreeofScienceinBuildingTechnologyinAmerica.IwasenrolledinCollegeofArchitectureEngineering,XXUniversity,majoringinArchitectureinSept.2010,andaccordingtheacademicrecorduptonow,I’mcertaintoobtainmyBachelordegreeinEngineeringnextJuly.Astheonlykeycomprehensiveuniversityco-establishedbytheProvinceandtheMinistryinHebeiProvince,HebeiUniversityattachesprimaryimportancetotheeducationofitsstudentsandacademicresearches.Duringundergraduatestudies,Ihaveestablishedagoodknowledgefoundationfrommyknowledgeableprofessors.Outsideoftheclass,Ihaveparticipatedinvariouskindsofextracurricularactivities.IhaveactedasCaptainofthevolleyballteamofCollegeofArchitectureEngineering,HebeiUniversityforalmostfouryears,andledmyteamwonthethirdplacetwiceinthevolleyballmatchofHebeiUniversity.Strivingtoself-improveinfinancialknowledgeandinterpersonalcommunicationskills,IstartedmyfirstinternshipinBeijingBranchofficeof5+1WerkhartInternational,whichisanmultinationalGroupofArchitecturalDesignServiceandhavecompletedmorethan100majorprojectsofurbanplanning,architecturaldesign,landscapedesignandotheraspectsofdesign,leadingthemarketdirectioninthedesignconceptandtechnicalmeansduringsummervocationof2013academicyear.Differentfromuniversitylife,workingintheofficeneedsmetobemoresystematic,preciseandlogic.Fortunately,myversatilityincomingupwithsolutionsforproposalsofanysort,andmyarticulatemannerofcommunicatingthesesolutionssuggestedthatIcanbewellsuitedtothejobofanarchitect.IworkedastheassistantofConstructionDrawingsDesigner,Iwasmainlyresponsiblefordrawingconstructionplan,makingmodelsofpublictoiletsanddetectingthetechnicalandeconomicindicators.Whentheconstructionprojectcametothefinalstage,myjobalsocontainedcheckingthedetailsofconstructionplantomakesuretherewasnoconflictofplaceandstructure.Fromthisinternship,Ihadabasicfamiliaritywithofficeworkandimprovedmyinterpersonalcommunicationskills.Duringworking,IhavecontactedwithpracticeexperienceofAotoCAD,Photoshop,Officeandbuildingprofessionalsoftware.What’smore,Ilearnedtheprocedureofsomerealcasesoflargeengineeringprojectdesign.Ihappenedtofeelthequicknessofupgrading.I’methnicKoreansandmasterthreekindsoflanguage,Chinese,KoreanandEnglish.Iplungeintoworkwithimmensezeal,hatingpeoplewhogivesuphalfway.Awareofwonder,Iamalwayseagertolearnnewknowledge.I’mgoodatcollectingdataandanalyzesystematicallyandcautiously.Ilikereading,watchingmovies,likesports,likeavarietyoftypesofexercise,suchasplaying,skiing,iceskating,rollerskating.I’mquiteusedtomakedecisionsandsolveproblemsbymyselffromaveryearlyage.I’mlookingforwardtotheacademiccareerintheUnitedStatestoenrichmyinadequateknowledgeofarchitecture.YourmasterprogramofScienceinBuildingTechnologyattractsmemostandyourdiversestudentpopulationandmulti-culturaleducationalenvironmentmakesmehaveopportunitytoestablishnetworkwithpeoplefromtheworld.What’smore,myconversationswithseveralofyouralumnihavedeepenedmyinterestanddecision.Iknewthatyourfaculty,teachingandresearchqualitiesareworld-class.Ibelievethatyouwilldevelopmyprofessionalskillsandunlockmyprofessionalpotential.PS制作人：袁明艳
