昆明理工大学研究生英语拓展课程《希罗神话》期末论文写作论文名称InterpretationofAnthropomorphism班级希罗神话1班学院国土资源工程学院专业岩土工程年级2016级姓名藕明江学号20162101061指导老师杨瑾瑜InterpretationofAnthropomorphismAbstract:AncientGreekhaveaspecialconceptofgodcalledAnthropomorphism.Bothgodsandhumanshavebody,arms,legs,hair,etc.Wecannotdistinguishgodandhumanbytheirappearance.Theonlydifferencebetweengodandhumanisthatgodshavestrongerbody,powerfulmagicbuthumannot.Godsalsohaveemotion,forexample,joy,happiness,sad,angerandsoonjustlikehuman.AlltheaboveoftheconceptareaffectedbytheconceptofhistoryandhumanismoftheancientGreek.Keywords:theconceptofgod,anthropomorphism,humanismIntroduction:WhatAchaeanknowaboutGreekmythologytoday,besidesIliadandOdysseyofHomer,Epic,Ovid,sMetsmorphosisandsoon,aremostlyfromancientGreekculture.TheseancientGreekculturesarenotonlytreasureofclassicculture,butalsogiveusanentrancetoknowtheprofoundideaofancientGreek.1.TheancientGreek'sdescriptionofGod'scharacterandappearanceThegodsintheancientGreeksweredifferentfromthegodsintheeyesoftheOrientals.IntheEast,Godissuperiortoothersandisthemasterofmanandthedestinyofman.InancientGreece,however,thegodswereonlycapitalsman,andGodwasthesameasman.TheGreekGodwasworshippedasGod,notbecauseofhismoralloftiness,orevenbecausehewaswiserthanman,butbecausehehadamoremuscularbodythanman.ItisbecauseofitsbeautythatpeopleregarditasGod.InnineteenthCenturyafamousestheticianDannerwroteabookcalledthephilosophyofart,hesaidinthebook:theGreeksseethebeautifulbodyasanexample,theresultsactuallyidolized,onthegroundasahero,intheskyandasgods.Therefore,bothGreekgodsandGreekheroeshavehumanform,evenmorelikehumanthanhumanbeings.Likehumanbeings,Godhashumanemotions.GodisGod,thebeautyistheadmiration,butalsobecausehehasthesevenemotionsandsixsensorypleasureslikehumanbeings.Hehasphysicalneeds,desires,andmistakeslikeaman.Somegodsarefoolish.Forexample,Zeus,thekingofthegods,oftenmakesmistakesandisoftenfooledbyothergods,evenmortals.However,itisbecauseofthis,heislovely.TheChristianGodisomniscientandomnipotentandhenevermakesamistake,whichletusfeelthefear.Heisanotherkindofexistencethathasnothingtodowithus.2.SomeviewsofancientGreeceonGodsGodisnotomnipotentandmancanconquerGod,whicharethefaithoftheancientGreeks.ThegodsofancientGreececouldnotcontrolthefateofhumanbeings,andtheycouldnotevendecidetheirownfate.Forexample,Cronuskilledhisfatherwhowasthekingofthegodstogetthethrone,sohisfathercursedCronusthathedestinedtobekilledbyhisownson.WhenZeusgrownup,herescuedfivebrothersandsistersswallowedbyCronus,andforcesoverthrewhim,finallyascendedtothethrone.Inaddition,mancancontendwithGod,whocanbedefeated,oratleastdefeatedbyaheroofhumanbloodlineage.TheancientGreeksbelievedthatmancouldfallinlovewithGod.AncientGreekmythologyoftendescribesthetemptationofmalegodstobeautifulwomenoftheearthandtheirencounters.ThecrystallizationofthecombinationofGodandwomanistheheroofancientGreece.Inlovingwithmortals,LordZeusisthebestofall.Hemetsomemortalwomen,includingPrincessofArgos,PrincessArkMoNeofMycenae,QueenofSpartaLeda,etc.ThelordGodandthemortalwomenmakethebirthofheroPerseusandHercules.TheseagoddessThetisandPeleus,mortalheroesofancientGreece,bornthegreatestheroAchilles.Theseheroesoftenhavehandsomeappearancewithwisdombrainandbraveandskillfulbody.ThesestoriesareveryfamiliaramongGreeksandevenwomanandchildrenallknow.3.TheinfluenceofancientGreekhistoryandhumanismontheconceptofGodTheancientGreekdescribepeopleandGodwiththesamewaybecausetheyhaveneverclearboundariesbetweenmythandhistory.Thecombinationofmythologicalhistoryandhistoricalmythisgreat.TotheancientGreeks,ancienthistoryissameasmyth.Toacertainextent,Godisthesameconceptasman.Sofar,wecanunderstandtheancientGreek'santhropomorphicdescriptionsofGod.WhydopeoplenotsurrendertoGodinancientGreekmythology?Thisisduetothehumanistictradition.AncientGreeceemphasizedthevalueanddignityofhumanbeingsandlovedthehappylifeofthesecularworld.Therefore,theancientGreeksneverbelittledthemselvesasaloyalservantofGodandbuiltareligiousfaithforthemselvesinthemyth.TheirpurposeinwritingmythologyistopraiseGodaswellastopraisethemselves.ConclusionGreekmythsandlegendshaveentrustedtheancientGreeks,thoughts,feelingsandideals,alsoreflectedthedignity,justice,strengthandenterprisingspiritoftheGreeks,aswellasthecollectivestrengthandwisdom.Therefore,theGreekmythologyisanartofGreekdailycommunication.TheconceptofAnthropomorphismformedduringHomericageaffectedthegovernmentsystemGreekselected,whichistheinevitableoutcomeofthesupportofthenonreligiousatheism.Reference1.杨曙晨,浅谈古希腊人的神观—神人同形同性论,文化研究,2009年10月(中旬刊)2.张岚,神人“同形同性”——希腊神话特征探析之一,延安教育学院学报,2002年第3期
