第七届全国膜与膜过程学术报告会1FACILITATEDTRANSPORTOFCARBONDIOXIDEFROMAIRUSINGPOLYETHYLENIMINEONPOLYETHERSULFONEHOLLOWFIBERMEMBRANEMuhammadSyukriAbdRahamana,c,LinZhanga,Huan-LinChena,Li-HuaChenga,b,Xin-HuaXubaDepartmentofChemicalandBiologicalEngineering,ZhejiangUniversity,Hangzhou310027,P.R.ChinabDepartmentofEnvironmentalEngineering,ZhejiangUniversity,Hangzhou310027,P.R.ChinacDepartmentofChemicalandProcessEngineering,NationalUniversityofMalaysia,43600Selangor,MalaysiaAbstractCarbondioxideisconsideredasthegreatestenvironmentalchallengetheworldisfacing.Polyethylenimine(PEI)asselectivechemicalwasusedtobesupportedonPESmembranebecauseofthecapabilitiesofPEItocapture,reactandreleaseCO2again.Thedryingtemperatureiskeptat100ºCtoavoidwatercontentreductioninordertomaximizeCO2reaction.Theresultantfiberswitheffectiveareaof180cm2wastesteditsseparationperformanceintermsoftheoutletofCO2concentration.CO2permeabilityandCO2/N2selectivitywereinvestigatedusingacompressingairasfeed..Asresults,theseparationperformanceswereincreasewhenthePEIconcentrationhasincreased.Thepermeabilityof6%PEIcouldreachupto1.4x10-7mol/m2.s.PawiththeCO2/N2selectivityupto300atlowerpressure(1Bar).Theseperformancescouldraise300%morewhenthefeedflowratehasincreased.Inaddition,byusing6%PEIconcentratedCO2upto0.8%wascollectedatthepermeatesideathigherfeedpressure(3bar).TheconcentratedCO2haspotentialtobeintegratedwithalgalcultivationforcompleteCO2removal.Keywords:Facilitatedtransport,Polyethylenimine,Polyethersulfione,Carbondioxidecapture
