Twotypesofmolecularsieveadsorbents(zeolites)werepreparedfrompowerplantresidualcircula-tionfluidizedbedflyashbyhydrothermalreactions.TheXandPzeoliteswereproducedbybakingwithoutpretrea-tingtherawmaterials.TheXRDcharacterizationsshowthatrelativecrystallinityoftheXandPzeoliteswere68%-75%and55%,respectively.FeCl3wasemployedforimpregnationofFe3+ontheXzeolite,andtheeffectsofFeCl3loading,impregnationtemperatureandcontacttimeonthemodifiedzeolite'scapacityweredetermined.TheFeim-pregnatedXzeoliteremoved74%-98%ofF-inthetestrunswithanadsorptivecapacityof25.0-30.0mg/g;itdem-onstratedahighercapacity,fasterandmorecompleteremovalofF-thantheoriginalXzeolites,naturalzeolite,clayandflyash.TheformationofFeF3-nn(n=1-6)resultedinahighercapacityduetochemicaladsorption.Keywords:
