:0250-3301(2009)10-2968-07:2008-11-09;:2008-12-20:“”(2008ZX07317-007-105,2008ZX07314-008-01);(PHR20090502);2008:(1979~),,,,E-mail:wang-wei2005@emails.bjut.edu.cn*,E-mail:pyz@bjut.edu.cnModifiedStep-feedAOBiologicalNitrogenRemovalProcessforEnhancedPhosphorusRemovalWANGWei,PENGYong-zhen,YINFang-fang,WANGShu-ying(KeyLaboratoryofBeijingforWaterQualityScienceandWaterEnvironmentalRecoveryEngineering,BeijingUniversityofTechnology,Beijing100124,China)Abstract:Apilot-scalestep-feedAOsystemwasusedtotreatlowCNmunicipalwastewater.Toobtainhighqualitysimultaneousnitrogenandphosphorusremoval,amodifiedstep-feedAOsystemwasdevelopedandthenitrogenandphosphorusremovalefficiencywasevaluatedbetweentheoriginalandmodifiedsystem.TheresultshowedthatTNremovalefficiencywas66.52%andTPremovalefficiencywasonly29.24%beforethemodifiedconfigurationwasapplied.Whenthemodifiedsystemwasadopted,thesatisfiedsimultaneousnitrogenandphosphorusremovalwasachieved.TPremovalefficiencyincreasedto89.81%andTNremovalefficiencywas73.61%whentheoptimalfeedingratio(0.45∶0.35∶0.20)wasapplied.Comparedtotheoriginalconfiguration,TNremovalefficiencyincreasedabout7.09%duetotheenhanceddenitrifyingphosphorusremoval,whichsavedthecarbonsourcefordenitrification.Toevaluatetheselectionanddominanceofpolyphosphate-accumulatingorganisms(PAOs)anddenitrifyingpolyphosphate-accumulatingorganisms(DNPAOs),batchtestwasexploredtoexaminetheanaerobicphosphorusrelease,aerobicandanoxicphosphorusuptake.TheresultshowedthatbothPAOsandDNPAOswereaccumulatedgraduallywhenthemodifiedsystemwasapplied.ThemaximalaerobicPuptakerate[P(MLSS·t)]wasincreasedfrom2.34mg(g·h)to10.67mg(g·h)andtheanoxicPuptakeratewasincreasedfrom0.33mg(g·h)to2.81mg(g·h)whenthemodifiedsystemwasoperated.Keywords:nitrogenremoval;phosphorusremoval;denitrifyingphosphorusremoval;step-feed;AO
