AbookreviewofAlice'sAdventuresinWonderlandAlice'sAdventuresinWonderland(commonlyshortenedtoAliceinWonderland)isan1865novelwrittenbyEnglishauthorCharlesLutwidgeDodgsonunderthepseudonymLewisCarroll.HewasanEnglishauthor,mathematician,logician,Anglicandeaconandphotographer.OnJuly4,1862,theauthorwentsightseeingwithReverendRobinsonDuckworthandthreegirlsontheRiverThames.OneofthegirlswasexactlycalledAliceLiddell,whomweknowistheleadingroleofthestory.Inordertokilltimeduringthejourney,DodgsontoldthegirlsastorythatfeaturedaboredlittlegirlnamedAlicewhogoeslookingforanadventure.Thegirlslovedit,andAliceLiddellaskedDodgsontowriteitdownforher.So,hediditandthreeyearslater,thebookcalledAlice'sAdventuresinWonderlandpublished.IttellsofagirlnamedAlicewhofallsdownarabbitholeintoafantasyworld(Wonderland).Thecreaturestherearepeculiar,intelligentialandanthropomorphic.Sheexperiencedmanyfantasticthingsinwonderlandwhichwon’thappenintherealworld.Intheend,Alicefoundthatwasonlyadream,shewasstillsittingunderthetree.Andthestoryended.Butforme,ofcourseIwon’tthinkofitonlyasasimpledream.Iwasdeeplyimpressedwithmanyplots.Forexample,whenAlicefelldownthehole,shedidn’tcryandcrylikeacommongirl,onthecontrarysheshowedherbravesidetous.Thatreallyimpressedandmovedme.Wecanleanedalotfromthispureandintrepidgirl.Forthecharacters,Aliceisthemaincharacterofthestory.SheisacuteandbraveEnglishseven-year-oldgirlwithagoodimagination,mannersandbehavior.Inmanymovieversionsofthebook,Aliceusuallyappearsasablondegirl,wearingabluedress;TheMadHatterisawackymanandtheleaderoftheMadTeaParty.HeisknowntobeveryrudetowardsAliceandgivingherstupidriddleswithoutanyanswers.TheWhiteRabbitistherabbitwholeadsAlicetoWonderland.HeisthefirstWonderlandResidentAlicemeets.Inthebookandmovieversions,theRabbitwearsawaistcoatwherehepocketshiswatch.TheCheshireCatisapeculiarcatthatalwaysgrinsandturnsinvisibleatwill.HeisresponsibleofguidingAlicetotheMadTeaParty.TheMarchHareistheMadHatter'scrazedsidekickwhoisalsorudetowardsAlice.Helikestothrowtheteapotandothertableware.Andhealsolikestobitehisearsandhands.Heprefercookingthandoinganyotherthings,astrangerabbit.TheCaterpillar--Awise,butrudeoldbugwhogivesAliceadviceabouthowtochangesizescorrectlybyeatingthemushroom.……Ilovethestory,andIlovethelittlegirlcalledAlice.Inwonderland,impossibleisnothing.Becauseourmindisstereotyped,wearealreadyusedtothesetpatterns.Thethingshappenedinwonderlandmayseemstobestrangeorstupidtous.That’smaybeatragedytoaperson’slife.Wewilllosesomuchfuninthatway.Whycan’tweimagineorevendosomecrazythings?Infact,thestoryisadream,butitshowsmemanydifferentideasandtruth.We’llhavenochoicebuttofacethedifficultieswhenwegrowup,butwecan’tloseourinherentpureheart.Wonderlandisaniceplace.ItisaplaceIcanfollowmyheartanddoanythingIwant.That’swhyIlikethisbook.Ialwaysbelieve,theworldfollowsyourheart,ifyouthinkit’sbeautiful,then,itwouldbe.LikewhatDickenssaid“Thepure,thebright,andthebeautiful.Thesethingsshallneverdie.”
