美国留学申请：PS范文(经济学专业)范文1：Marketingexpertsliketoclassifypeopleintodifferentgenerationgroups,believingthatpeopleofthesameagesharesimilarvalueandattitudes.Iagreewiththoseexperts''theoryinthatitemphasizestheconnectionbetweenthecircumstancesofone'supbringingandone'slateroutlookonlife.Mypersonality,talents,values,evencareerchoicehavebeenprofoundlyinfluencedbymyfamilylifeandupbringinginTaiwan.MynameisPeterHuangandI’vegrownupinTen-Mou,amulticulturalneighborhoodinsuburbanTaipei.Duringtheearlyyearsofmychildhood,myparentsexertedaprofoundinfluenceovermydevelopment.Thoughneitherofthemwasinvolvedinbusiness,bywatchingtheirintegrityandhardwork,IlearnedmoreaboutthetruemeaningofsuccessthanIwouldeverhaveinanyclassroom.MyfatherisanAirForcecolonel.HejoinedtheR.O.CAirForceattheageof14,strugglingtoachievehispersonalbestasthesupplydivisionchiefoftheR.O.C.AirForceAcademy.Unlikesomeofficersinthemilitary,whodependedonfamilyrelationshipandprivilegetogetpromoted,myfathergainedhispositionbyhardworkandassiduity.Hethusemphasizedtheimportanceofindustriousnesswhenitcametomyeducation.WhenIwas10,Iattendedaspeechcontest.Duringtheweekbeforethecontest,myfatherandIspenttwohoursadaytogether,organizingthelecturecontent,adjustmyrhythm,andrehearsing.Iwasashy,soft-spokenchild,andfoundspeakinginpublicdifficultatfirst.Butthroughmyfather'spatienteffortsandhisbelieveintherewardsofhardwork,Igraduallybecameanexcellentpublicspeakerandwonmanyoftheconteststhatfollowed.Asaresultoftheexperiencessuchasthis,Ilearnedaverystrongworkethicandemulatedsomeofmyfather'sbestcharacteristics-perseveranceanddedication.ThesequalitiesservedmewellasIenteredmandatorymilitaryserviceinTaiwanandfacedmanydifficultsituations.IonceledasquadtoenactthetyphoondisasterreliefactioninNan-tou.Wehadoneweekinwhichtosalvageafactorythatwashalf-buriedinmud.Asthesquadcommander,Inotonlysupervised,butalsoparticipatedinthedemandingandseemlyendlessdiggingwork.Andeachnight,afteranexhaustingworkwhenallothersoldierswereasleep,Ispentextrahourscheckingifthereweresufficientsuppliesandmakingplansforthenextday'sreliefaction.WhenIfinallylaiddowntosleep,IcouldnothelpbutreflectonhowmuchIhaddeveloped,asbothapersonandaleader,sincethatfirstspeechcontest.Mymotherhasawarmandkindpersonality,andhasalwaysreachedouttotheexpatriatesinourneighborhood.SheorganizedalanguageexchangeclubwiththeAmericanstudentsinlocalcolleges,hopingtoincreaseunderstandingofTaiwaneseandAmericanculturesthroughtheexchangeoflanguage.ItookpartintheclubwhenIwasstillinelementaryschool.Thischildhoodmulti-culturalexperienceinstilledinmeanactivepersonalityandwillingnesstointeractwithpeopleofdifferentcultures.Inparticularly,itstrengthenedmyinterestinAmericanandmydesiretoworkandlivethereoneday.Mymother’semphasisoninternationalexchangeandcooperationhasledmetoworkfortheFulbrightFoundationinTaipeiasaresearchassistant.ThispositionallowsmetointeractwitheducationalassociationsintheUnitedStatesandtotakepartininternationalconferences.IonceparticipatedinaventurecapitalseminarinHsin-Chu,workingontheissueofgraduateleveltechnologymanagementeducationwithrepresentativesofmajorhigh-techcompaniesandacademicinstitutions.LastNovember,IrepresentedtheFoundationinaninternationalTele-conferenceinTaipei.TheconferencewasconductedbothinEnglishandinChineseandwashostedbythePrimeofMinistryofEducation.MyworkhasalsogivenmetheopportunitytoknowandbecomefriendswithexceptionalFulbrightscholarsfromtheUnitedStates.Whilemychildhoodyearsshapedmycharacter,itwasmyhighschoolandcollegeyearswhichledtomyinterestinbusiness.1988wasbothadeterminingyeartomycareerchoicesandaturningpointinTaiwan'seconomy.AspeoplefamiliarwithTaiwan'smoderneconomichistoryknow,theexchangerateoftheNewTaiwanDollartoU.S.Dollarsmovedfrom40:1to25:1inthatyearundertheoverwhelmingpressureofAmericangovernment.ThusmeantthatthetraditionaladvantageofTaiwan'seconomy,lowlaborcosts,wasnolongerourstrength.PeopleeverywhereweretalkingaboutthefutureofTaiwan'seconomy.Outofayoungman'spassion,Iwantedtocontributemytalentandefforttomycountry.ThatwasthetimeatwhichImadeupmymindthatsomeday,IwillmakeTaiwan-madeproductsfamousworld-widely,likethoseproducedbyIBM,Intel,orMicrosoft.ThisteenagenaivepatrioticdreamtransformedintoaninterestinbusinessadministrationandeconomicsafterIgraduatedfromTaipeiFirstSeniorHighSchool.Ifocusedmycollegestudyonmanufacturingadministrationandeconomics.Fromfouryearsoflectures,seminars,andin-factorystudyinthedepartmentofIndustrialEngineeringatNationalFormosaUniversity,Iacquiredskillsinqualityinsurance,manufacturingplanningandcontrol,andfactoryimprovementanddiagnosticmethods.Inmyeconomicclass,Ilearnedhowprices,preferences,andincomesaffectpeople'sdemandofgoodsfromthemicroeconomic.Ialsoacquiredknowledgeofhowvariousfactors-governmentpolicies,currencyexchangerate,andbalanceofinternationaltrade-affectacountry'seconomicsgrowth.Myinterestinbusiness,however,isnotlimitedtoindustrialengineeringandeconomics.Inmyjunioryear,Ialsotook6creditsofaccountingcoursesandlearnedtheknowledgeofbasicaccountingprinciples,financialstatements,andmanagerialaccount
