Socialnetworking,goodorbad?Hello,ladiesandgentlemen.I’vebeenprivilegedtodeliverthisspeechtonight.Ireallyfancythiskindofface-to-facetalkcauseIcanjudgefromallyourexpressionswhetherIconvinceyouornotandmaybeafterthiskindofcommunicationwecanbothbenefit.SocialnetworkingisbasedontheInternetforthepurposeofhelpingpeopleconstructonlinesocialplatform.Since2003thefirstsocialnetworkingsoftwarewasinvented,ithasdevelopedhugelyandnowinChina,thecoverageofmajorsocialnetworklikesinamicroblogandwechatis60percentaveragely,andit’sevenhigherinthecities.Itbringsusconvenienceandhasbeendeeplyassociatedwithourdailylife,especiallyforteenagersandcollegestudents.However,italsocomeupwithquitesomeproblemstopeople’srelationshipandsociallife.TodayI’mgoingtotalkaboutafewoftheminordertodrawattention.RecentlyontheInternet,therearepeopleofakindcalledthephubbingsorsmartphoneaddicts.Theyaresupposedtobethosewhoarealwaysstaringattheirphonescreensandtoobusychattingonlinetohaveatalkwithpeopleinfrontofthem.Fornowit’smoreandmorecommontoseethattwoormorepeoplesittingatatablewithouttalkingorchatting.Theyseemtobeobsessedwiththeirphones.Towardthis,scientistshavecarriedoutalotofresearchonthisphenomenontodiscoverwhypeopleareaddictedtotheirphonesandsocialnetworking.Andherecomestheconclusion.Humanasakindofsocialanimalmustliveinasocialgroupinwhichtherearenecessarilycompetitionsamongmembers.Socialnetworkingprovidesaplatformtopeoplesothattheycanshowthemselvestoothers.Andthiscangivethemafeelingoffulfillmentwhichinreallifeisalwaysdeficient.TheyjustenjoytheadmirationandsuperiorityontheInternetwhichcanbehardlyexperiencedinreal.It’ssaidthatthroughsocialnetworking,wecanhaveaccesstopeoplewhohavecommonmorepointswithus.Thusitbecomesfarmorerelaxingandinterestingtocommunicatewithothersonline.Butsomepeoplearejustgoingtoofar.Onthesurface,withthisaddictiontophonespeoplewouldhavelesstimetoconcentrateonthethingsthatreallymatterandwhenworkingtheefficiencyofstaffshouldbereducedforthedisturbanceofringingphones.Itwilldomoreharmtostudentsbecausethistime-consumingactivitycansubordinatetrulyimportantthingslikestudying,wheretheygroundtheirfuture.Withthedistractionofsocialnetworking,teenagerstudentsmaynotpayenoughattentiontoclassesandtasks.Andcontinuouslyrefreshingyoursocialnetworkinginyourbedorchairsmakesyouformsomebadhabitssuchasprocrastinationorsloth.Inadeepway,theoverusingofsocialnetworkingcanmakepeopledependentonandlostinthevirtualworld.Thiscoulddragthoseaddictedpeopleoutofthereallife,isolatedthemfromsocietyandrealsociallife.Iftheycannotgoouttomeetfriendsormakenewacquaintance,theirsocialcirclesissurelytobeconfinedinasmallarea.Forteenagerswhoarepreparingtoenterthisworld,socialskillisthemostfundamentaltoexpressideasandcooperatewithothers.Lackingthisskillcankeeppeopleoutofnormalsociallifeandshouldresultinasenseofsolitudeandrejection.Forexample,thosewhohavenumerousfriendsonlineactuallycan’tfindcompanyofflinesotheyhavetoturntosocialnetworkingsoastomeettheirneedforcommunication.Thislackofsocialexperiencesislikelytoaffectteenagersinabadwaybecausetheydon’thaveexperiencesonempathyandsympathy.Sowhentheygetintosocietythiskindofignorancecanmakethemindifferentandunsympathetic.Ifthisindifferencebecameacommonphenomenon,Icouldn’timaginehowhardlifewouldbe.SointheendImustadmitthattechnologyhasbroughthugeconveniencetoourdailylife.MoreimportantIwanttosayisweshouldmakeuseofitinsteadofbeingcontrolledbytechnology.Headsupmyfriend,embracethiscolorfulworld.
