龙源期刊网—basedLearninginProfessionalEnglishTeaching&LearninginClassroom作者:ZhaoLu-ke来源:《校园英语·下旬》2015年第10期【Abstract】Withtheanalysisofthevirtuesofproject-basedlearning(PBL),thisthesisexploresthestrategyandtechniquebasedonPBLforprofessionalEnglishstudyinclass.【KeyWords】project-basedlearning;constructivisttheory;student-oriented【摘要】本文通过对PBL优势的分析,对专业英语课堂教学中基于PBL的教学策略和教学方法进行了探索。【关键词】项目学习法建构主义理论以学生为导向(中心)1.NecessityofReformofProfessionalEnglishTeachinginClassProfessionalEnglish(PE)hasbeentraditionallytaughtliterallyandseparately,sothatithasleastconjunctionwithpracticalworkingsituation.Studentsbeingtaughtvirtuallybyliteralsenseofwordsfeeldullandaremechanizedinclassroom,anddiscouragedtogoinforpositivelearning,letaloneimaginationandcreativity,andgraduallyloseheartwithfrustration.Moreover,duringthewholeclasshourstudentsarereluctantlyfedupbyteacher,thusthereisbarelyinteractionbetweenstudentsthemselvesandteacher.Asurveyofgraduates’performanceintheirjobshowedthatthiskindofmodelhasmadesomeofgradsnearlybe“adumbboy”whenfacingauthenticproblems.Consequentially,thereformofPEeducationisimperative,andthePBListhenbeingintroducedintoclassroom.2.Thecutting-edgeofPBLinPELearningPractically,PBLhasbeenassociatedwiththeconstructivisttheoryandthesituatedlearningapproach.InorganizingPEstudy,PBLstressesonstudent-orientedmodelinwhichstudentsoftenmustorganizetheirownworkandmanagetheirowntime.Andthedesignedprojectortasks(coachedbyteacher)isconsistentlycateringtostudents’needsintheirlatervocationalcareer.Aswell,PBLreliesonvocationalsituationandtreatsthelearningprocessasa“project”-areal-worldproblem,whichlinksupwiththepurposeofPE,hence,thestudents’interestsandconfidenceshallbeactivatedthankstotheirearlyassetsconcernedinChineseandtheinternshipinthisregard.Tocompletetheprojectthestudentshavetodoaseriesofknowledgepreparations.Insteadofbeing龙源期刊网,PBLstudentsshallattempttoexploreinautonomousand\orcollaborativewaybyvariousmeansinclassandoutofclass.Andintheprocess,theEnglishwordsandphrases,professionaljargons,patternofsentencesandexpertise,etc.wouldbeinstilledandconstructed.Simultaneously,theskillsandabilitytolearnknowledgeshallbedeveloped.Noticeably,theclasslearningprocessistransformedintoanauthenticorsimulatedworkingprocess,whichisnodoubthelpfultodevelopingthevocationalabilityandqualityofstudentsinsomedegree.3.ImplementationofPBLinPEStudyTakethecurricularunitBusinessNegotiationasanexample.Thecrucialworkistomakeapropertransformationanddesignaproject.Theprojectisdesignedwithseveraltasks,andinthefulfillmentoftasks,studentsshallconstructorreconstructknowledge,developvocationalabilityandimproveall-roundquality.Thatissocalled“ThreeObjectives”(TO).Steps:1.Designaprojectthroughouttheentireleaningprocess-ConcludeaCertainTransactionwithaCertainForeignFirm.Theprojectisframedbystudentswiththeirearlyassetsunderteacher’sdirection.2.SetTO-objectiveofknowledge,objectiveofabilityandobjectiveofstudents’quality(OMIS)TOaresetbasedontherequirementsofthecurriculumandtheelementsoftheproject.3.Arrangetasksthatserveandfulfilltheproject-sendInquiry,makeanOffer,makeaCounter-offer,makeanAcceptance.TasksarevehiclecarryingexpertiseandEnglishskills.4.Makeprogram.Thegroupshavingbeenformedworkouttheprogrambasedontheprojectandtasksdesigned.Theteachercheckstheprogramandoffersguidancenecessarily.5.Carryouttheprogram.Eachgroupdividestheprogramamongmembers,andtheassignmentswillbefulfilledbymembersautonomouslyandcollaborativelythrough“learningbydoing”andeventuallytheycallitadeal,andthenformareport.6.Assessment.Groupsmakepresentationinturn,andthentheteachermakesconformityassessmentbasedonthereports.Andstudents’TOareoughttobespecificallyembodiedbythose“intangibleassets”thatPBL龙源期刊网:a)pleasantlearningb)problem-solvingabilityc)teamworkspiritd).knowledgegainede)thinkingskillpromotedf)innovationcultivatedg)emotionalharmony.Importantly,thelistedintangibleassets(atleast)canbeusedtoevaluatetheeffectivenessofthePBLinourPEteachingthroughstudents’feedbackbyquestionnairefilledoutbystudentsbasedontheirsatisfactiononthem.References:[1]Heke-kang,Teachingmodel,TeachingMethodandTeachingDesignofConstructivism.JournalofBeijingNormalUniversity,5volume,1997.作者简介:赵鲁克,男,(1957.4)河北人,副教授,研究方向:国际经贸。
