AdvantagesoftheImplementationofEuthanasiaEuthanasia,originatedfromtheGreek,formerlyreferstohappydeathordignifieddeath.InseveralEnglishdictionaries,itisexplainedas〝painlessdeathofapersonwithanincurableandmiserablediseaseorofanagingperson〞,or〝thepracticeofkillingwithoutpainapersonwhoissufferfromadiseasethatcannotbecured〞.Chinesescholarsdefineeuthanasialikethistoanincurablepatientincriticallyillcriticalcondition,duetohisphysicalandspiritualsuffering,withthepatient’sandtheirrelatives’requestandafterthedoctor'sapproval,theoperationofthemethodwhichleadthepatienttodiewithoutpain〞(1).Inthe1930s,inAmericanandsomeEuropeancountriesscholarsbegantopromoteeuthanasia.InAmericanpeopleestablishedthedeathwithoutpainsocietyandBritishavoluntaryanaloguedeathcommunitywasbuilt,peoplestartedactivitiesrelatedwitheuthanasiainordertoachievethelegaladmission.Afterwards,legalissuesabouteuthanasiahavebeendiscussedoverthewholeworld;hencemuchprogresshasbeenachieved.Since1980s,somedevelopedwesterncountriesgraduallypassedsomelawsandregulationsrelatedtoeuthanasia.InChina,June1986,thefirsteuthanasiacasehappenedShaanxiprovince,Hanzhongcity.Andin1992,June25,Shaanxiprovincialhigherpeople'scourtupheldthiscaseinthesecondfinal--notguiltyplea(2).Thiscasecausedquiteasensationatthattime,andproposedtheissuesofChineseeuthanasia.Fromthenon,discussionsabouttheissuehaveneverstopped.Virtuallytherearemanyadvantagesofimplementingeuthanasia,intermsofsocial,family,andthepatientsthemselves.Inthisessayallthebenefitswillbeelaboratedrespectivelyasfollows.Withregardtothesocialbenefits,iftheeuthanasiaisappliedlegally,notonlythelargeamountofmedicinalexpense,butthemedicinalresourcescanbesavedreasonably.Firstly,theimplementationofeuthanasiacanreducethesocialburdenofmedicalexpenses.Accordingtostatistics,thereare5~7millionvegetativepatientsincurrentChina,consequently,inordertomaintainthesepatientsofmedicalexpensesofthefirstyearcostinhospitalthecostis10to30millionYuan,andafterhospitalizationitcostsabout6~9millioneachyear(5).Meanwhileeveryyearthetotalmoneythatneedstospendonthehometreatmentandnursingcostsatleast1.5million.Thustomaintainsuchistwomuchexpensiveandthebigdealofmoneycanbeusedinothermoreusefulfields.Secondly,euthanasiahelpssavemoremedicineresourcesandthusrealizesamorereasonabledistributionofthem.Asadevelopingcountry,allsortsofmedicalresourcesinthedomesticmarketarestillrelativelyindeficiency.However,patientswithoutsurvivalhopeoccupymedicalequipmentandmedicalpersonnelinlongterm,andtheyusealotofmedicaldrugstocontinueameaninglesshope.Thisapparentlyisaseriouswastetolimitedhealthresources.Iftheseresourcescanbeusedforthosemoreurgentandhopefulpatients,theywillreceiveaneffectiveutilization.Thirdly,euthanasiadoesmuchgoodtothetransplantofhumanorgan.Atpresenteachcountryisfacedwiththehumanorgansourceshortagepredicament.Sincetherearenoenoughorgansources,manypatientsdie.Ifthoseseriouslyillpatientswithoutcurablehopecandenotetheirorgansaftereuthanasia,morealivepatientswillrecover.However,somepeopleareagainsttheimplantationofeuthanasiaintheviewthatthosehopelesspatientshavetheirownrighttoliveandthesocietyshouldnotsacrificetheircommonrights.Butasfaraslawsareconcerned,euthanasiaisimplementedaccordingtothepatient,theirfamilyandthedoctor’swilling,therefore,itisanendofthepatients’sufferingratherthansacrifice.Iftheopponentsofeuthanasiaareagainstthesocialbenefitsasmentionedabove,peoplecannotignoretherequestsofthepatientsthemselves.Forthosewhoareseriouslyillandincurable,apainlessdeathisasatisfactoryendingtothem.Througheuthanasia,theywilldiepeacefullywithoutthephysicalandspiritualsuffering.1971inDutch,adoctorhelpedhermothertoapplyeuthanasiaaccordingtohermother’srequest,thushermothercanrestafterhorribletorture.Inthiswayboththepatientandpeoplearoundreceivearesolution.Forthosewhoareagainstthisissueandtakethisbehaviorasillegal,theyshouldstandinthepatients’shoesandrealizethattheywouldratherdiedignifiedlythansuffering.Meanwhile,itisnotdoubtthatanincurablepatientcausesheavyburdentothefamily.Relativesofsuchpatientshaveamoralobligationtotakecareofthem.However,inthelongrun,boththenurseandseeingofpatients’tortureputthewholefamilyalotofpressure.Meanwhile,thereisstillagreatfinancialburden.Asforthepatientsthemselves,theywouldnotlettoseethefamilytakesomanytroublesforthem.Sowiththeimplementationofeuthanasia,thepatientcanreducethefamily’semotionalsufferingaswellastheeconomicburden.Onthecontrary,somehumanistsarguethateuthanasiashowstheindifferenceandcoldnessofthefamily,whichresultsinremoterelationshipsamongpeople.However,inthefamily’sperspective,itisjustbecausetheydon’twantthepatientstosufferanymorethattheyagreetouseeuthanasia,whichalsoisamanifestationoftheirloveandcaretothepatientratherthanbeingindifferent.Everycoinhastwosides,anditisthesamewiththeissueofeuthanasia.Peopleblameitfortheshrinkingofresponsibility,humancoldnessandcrimesitbrings,atthesametimemanyothersarecallingforthelegalizationofit.Fromtheaboveelaborations,andtaketheconsiderationofthepatientsthemselves,thefamilyburdensandthesocialbenefits,aconclu
