奥巴马总统对美国学生的全国讲话2010由博雅源讲演网收集整理2010年9月14日,奥巴马来到位于宾州费城的一所中学进行了他第二次的开学演讲。THEPRESIDENT:Thankyou!Hello!(Applause.)Thankyou.Thankyou.Well,hello,Philadelphia!(Applause.)Andhello,Masterman.Itiswonderfultoseeallofyou.WhataterrificintroductionbyKelly.GiveKellyabigroundofapplause.(Applause.)IwassayingbackstagethatwhenIwasinhighschool,Icouldnothavedonethat.(Laughter.)Iwouldhavemuffeditupsomehow.Sowearesoproudofyouandeverythingthatyou’vedone.Andtoallthestudentshere,I’mthrilledtobehere.We’vegotacoupleintroductionsIwanttomake.Firstofall,you’vegottheoutstandinggovernorofPennsylvania,EdRendell,inthehouse.(Applause.)ThemayorofPhiladelphia,MichaelNutter,ishere.(Applause.)CongressmanChakaFattahishere.(Applause.)CongresswomanAllysonSchwartzishere.(Applause.)Yourownprincipal,MargeNeff,ishere.(Applause.)Theschoolsuperintendent,ArleneAckerman,ishereanddoingagreatjob.(Applause.)AndtheSecretaryofEducation,ArneDuncan,ishere.(Applause.)AndIamhere.(Applause.)AndIamthrilledtobehere.Iamjustsoexcited.I’veheardsuchgreatthingsaboutwhatallofyouaredoing,boththestudentsandtheteachersandthestaffhere.Todayisaboutwelcomingallofyou,andallofAmerica’sstudents,backtoschool,eventhoughIknowyou’vebeeninschoolforalittlebitnow.AndIcan’tthinkofabetterplacetodoitthanatMasterman.(Applause.)BecauseyouareoneofthebestschoolsinPhiladelphia.Youarealeaderinhelpingstudentssucceedintheclassroom.Justlastweek,youwererecognizedbyaNationalBlueRibbon--asaNationalBlueRibbonSchoolbecauseofyourrecordofachievement.Andthatisatestamenttoeverybodyhere–-tothestudents,totheparents,totheteachers,totheschoolleaders.It’sanexampleofexcellencethatIhopecommunitiesacrossAmericacanembrace.Overthepastfewweeks,MichelleandIhavebeengettingSashaandMaliareadyforschool.Andthey’reexcitedaboutit.I’llbettheyhadthesamefeelingsthatyoudo--you’realittlesadtoseethesummergo,butyou’realsoexcitedaboutthepossibilitiesofanewyear.Thepossibilitiesofbuildingnewfriendshipsandstrengtheningoldones,ofjoiningaschoolclub,ortryingoutforateam.Thepossibilitiesofgrowingintoabetterstudentandabetterpersonandmakingnotjustyourfamilyproudbutmakingyourselfproud.ButIknowsomeofyoumayalsobealittlenervousaboutstartinganewschoolyear.Maybeyou’remakingthejumpfromelementarytomiddleschool,orfrommiddleschooltohighschool,andyou’reworriedaboutwhatthat’sgoingtobelike.Maybeyou’restartinganewschool.You’renotsurehowyou’lllikeit,tryingtofigureouthowyou’regoingtofitin.Ormaybeyou’reasenior,andyou’reanxiousaboutthewholecollegeprocess;aboutwheretoapplyandwhetheryoucanaffordtogotocollege.Andbeyondallthoseconcerns,Iknowalotofyouarealsofeelingthestrainofsomedifficulttimes.Youknowwhat’sgoingoninthenewsandyoualsoknowwhat’sgoingoninsomeofyourownfamilies.You’vereadaboutthewarinAfghanistan.Youhearabouttherecessionthatwe’vebeenthrough.Andsometimesmaybeyou’reseeingtheworriesinyourparents’facesorsenseitintheirvoice.Soalotofyouasaconsequence,becausewe’regoingthroughatoughtimeacountry,arehavingtoactalotolderthanyouare.Yougottobestrongforyourfamilywhileyourbrotherorsisterisservingoverseas,oryou’vegottolookafteryoungersiblingswhileyourmomisworkingthatsecondshift.Ormaybesomeofyouwhoarelittlebitolder,you’retakingonapart-timejobwhileyourdad’soutofwork.Andthat’salottohandle.It’smorethanyoushouldhavetohandle.Anditmaymakeyouwonderattimeswhatyourownfuturewilllooklike,whetheryou’regoingtobeabletosucceedinschool,whetheryoushouldmaybesetyoursightsalittlelower,scalebackyourdreams.ButIcametoMastermantotellallofyouwhatIthinkyou’rehearingfromyourprincipalandyoursuperintendent,andfromyourparentsandyourteachers:Nobodygetstowriteyourdestinybutyou.Yourfutureisinyourhands.Yourlifeiswhatyoumakeofit.Andnothing--absolutelynothing--isbeyondyourreach,solongasyou’rewillingtodreambig,solongasyou’rewillingtoworkhard.Solongasyou’rewillingtostayfocusedonyoureducation,thereisnotasinglethingthatanyofyoucannotaccomplish,notasinglething.Ibelievethat.Andthatlastpartisabsolutelyessential,thatpartaboutreallyworkinghardinschool,becauseaneducationhasneverbeenmoreimportantthanitistoday.I’msuretherearegoingtobetimesinthemonthsaheadwhenyou’restayinguplatedoingyourhomeworkorcrammingforatest,oryou’redraggingyourselfoutofbedonarainymorningandyou’rethinking,oh,boy,Iwishmaybeitwasasnowday.(Laughter.)Butletmetellyou,whatyou’redoingisworthit.Thereisnothingmoreimportantthanwhatyou’redoingrightnow.Nothingisgoingtohaveasgreatanimpactonyoursuccessinlifeasyoureducation,howyou’redoinginschool.Moreandmore,thekindsofopportunitiesthatareopentoyouaregoingtobedeterminedbyhowfaryougoinschool.Thefartheryougoinschool,thefartheryou’regoingtogoinlife.Andatatimewhenothercountriesarecompetingwithuslikeneverbefore,whenstudentsaroundtheworldinBeijing,China,orBangalore,India,areworkingharderthanever,anddoingbetterthanever,yoursuccessinschoolisnotjustgoingtodetermineyoursuccess,it’sgoingtodetermineAmerica’ssuccessinthe21stcentury.Soyou’vegotanobligationtoyourselves,andAmericahasanobligationtoyou,tomakesureyou’regettingthebesteducationpossible.Andmakingsureyougetthatkindofeducationisgoingtotakeal
