EXAMINATIONMETHODSSECTIONIIIDESIGNANDCONSTRUCTIONRULESFORMECHANICALCOMPONENTSOFPWRNUCLEARISLANDSRCC-MRCC-MRCC-M-Edition2007SectionIII-MCMC1000MECHANICAL,PHYSICAL,PHYSICO-CHEMICALANDCHEMICALTESTSMC1100GENERALThischapterdescribestestconditionsandsetsthedimensionsforspecimens.MC1110SAMPLINGMETHODMC1111TESTMATERIALSThelocationandorientationofspecimensinthetestsamplesarespecifiedinSECTIONIIundergeneralprovisionsandtechnicalspecificationsandshallbeindicatedinthedocumentsissuedbytheManufacturerormaterialsSupplier.MC1112WELDINGThelocationoftestspecimensisspecifiedinannexSItoSECTIONIV.MC1200MECHANICALTESTSTestconditionsanddimensionsofspecimensshallcomplywithAFNORstandards*referredtobelowandwithanymodificationsoradditionalspecificationsappearinginthischapter.*Note:TitlesofAFNORstandardshavebeentranslatedfortheRCC-M.MC1210TENSILETESTSTensiontestingmachinesshallbeverifiedasspecifiedinstandardNFENISO7500-1.Machinesusedshallbeatleastclass1.ExtensometersshallbeverifiedasspecifiedinstandardNFENISO9513(extensometersusedshallbeclass1orbetter),orasspecifiedinASTME.83(extensometersusedshallbeclassB2orbetter)©n°113-2007MC1000/1RCC-M-Edition2007SectionIII-MCMC1211TENSILETESTINGATROOMTEMPERATUREStandardsNFEN10002-1andNFEN895shallbeappliedtakingthefollowingremarksintoaccount:A-NFEN10002-1Tensiontesting(testmethod).ANNEXDSpecimendiametershallbe10mm(reducedsection).Whereaspecimenofthisdiametercannotbeprocured,smallspecimensmayonlybeusedforinformationpurposesorwhereexplicitprovisionismadeforthispossibility.ANNEXEWherethethicknessofthetube(orfitting)allows,atestspecimenwithadiameterof10mmshallbeused.Otherwise,thetestshallbeperformedonstripscutfromthetube(orfitting)oronsectionsoftube(orfitting).B-NFEN895Destructivetestsonmetalcomponentwelds.Transverse-weldtensiletest.Thedegassingtreatmentproposedinthenoteofparagraph5.3ofthestandardisnotallowed.MC1212TENSILETESTINGATHIGHTEMPERATUREThestandardNFEN10002-5shallbeappliedtakingthefollowingremarksintoaccount:-Paragraph6.2,annexC:Testspecimendiametershallbe10mm(reducedsection).Whereaspecimenofthisdiametercannotbeprocured,smallspecimensmaybetestedwhereexplicitprovisionismadeforthispossibility.-Paragraph6.2,annexDWherethethicknessofthetube(orfitting)allows,atestspecimenwithadiameterof10mmshallbeused.Otherwise,thetestshallbeperformedonstripscutfromthetube(orfitting)oronsectionsoftube(orfitting).-Paragraph10.3Therateofstressingshallnotexceed80MPaperminuteuptoyieldstrength.MC1220IMPACTTESTS-PLOTTINGOFDUCTILE-TO-BRITTLETRANSITIONCURVESTestingmachinesshallbeverifiedasspecifiedinstandardNFEN10045.2.Thisverificationshouldbecarriedoutattwelvemonthintervalsandnolessthanonceevery18months.MC1000/2©n°113-2007RCC-M-Edition2007SectionIII-MCMC1221IMPACTTESTSDimensionsofspecimensandtestconditionsshallcomplywiththeprevailingAFNORstandardreferredtobelow.A-NFEN10045.1CharpyimpacttestEachtestshallinvolve2or3specimensincompliancewiththespecificationsofSECTIONSIIandIV.Foreachspecimenthepercentshearfractureandthelateralexpansionvaluemustbemeasuredifsorequiredintheprocurementspecification.ThesemeasurementsaremadeinaccordancewiththeindicationsinBandCbelow.B-Percentshearfracture-inaccordancewithspecificationASTMA370C-Lateralexpansionvalue-inaccordancewithspecificationASTMA370Micrometerreadingsshallalsobeauthorized,providedthatthefollowingprecautionsaretaken:-eL=(e-e1)mm.whereeL=lateralexpansion,-facesAandBofthetwohalvesofthespecimenmustbepositionedintheexactsameplane(P),-lateralexpansionvaluesshallbetheaverageresultsofthreedifferentmeasurements.MC1222PLOTTINGTHEDUCTILE-TO-BRITTLETRANSITIONCURVETestsshallbeperformedincompliancewithMC1221atnolessthanfivedifferenttemperatures,underthefollowingconditions:-onetestat0°C,-oneatatemperatureonthelowershelfofthecurve,correspondingtolessthan10%fibrousfracture,-oneatatemperatureequalto100%fibrousfracture,-othertemperaturesselectedwithaviewtodefiningtheshapeofthecurveasaccuratelyaspossible.AsspecifiedbyNFEN10045.1,thetemperatureofthespecimenatfractureshallnotdifferbymorethan±2°Cfromthespecifiedtesttemperature.Thefollowingareusedtoplotthecurve:-absorbedenergyvaluesasafunctionoftesttemperature,-percentshearfracturevaluesasafunctionoftesttemperature.TransitiontemperatureTK50%isthetemperatureatwhichpercentshearfractureis50%.©n°113-2007MC1000/3RCC-M-Edition2007SectionIII-MCSCHEMAMC1221MC1230PELLINIDROPWEIGHTTEST(determinationofTNDT)PreparationofspecimensandtestconditionsshallbeasstipulatedinspecificationASTME208.Beforeeachseriesoftestsisperformed,itistobeensuredloadwillbeexertedfromthecorrectheight(withintolerancelimitsof+10%and–0%).Theweightofthisloadshallalsobeknown.TestspecimensshallbetypeP3withdimensionsasshownonfigureMC1230.1.TableMC1230.1showstesttemperaturesforcaseswherespecificationcallsforanRTNDT≤0°C.TableMC1230.2showstesttemperaturesforcaseswherespecificationcallsforanRTNDT≤+16°C.MC1000/4©n°113-2007RCC-M-Edition2007SectionIII-MCTABLEMC1230.1©n°113-2007MC1000/5RCC-M-Edition2007SectionIII-MCTABLEMC1230.2MC1000/6©n°113-2007RCC-M-Edition2007SectionIII-MCFIGUREMC1230.1DIMENSIONSOFTYP
